Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius (Android)
Welp, I woke White Witch Fina, but didn't advance the campaign much. I also discovered an esper I missed, namely Shiva. I'm currently trying to finish up her level so I can acquire her before completing the current story mission.
Pokemon Go (Android)
350 Magikarp candies. I received a buttload of them the other day, having hatched an egg that gave me 10 candies, plus I caught two Magikarps at Grant Park right afterward. I also raked in enough Poliwag candies to evolve my Poliwhirl into Poliwrath, plus I hatched my first Gen 2 Pokemon, Igglybuff. The Christmas event is starting, and I look forward to getting free one-time use incubators and an increased possibility of nabbing the other Gen 2 babies.
Bulu Monster (Android)
Completed Forest South and caught all of the monsters there. I'm grinding right now, so my monsters will be strong enough to withstand the next area. I've gotten about four of them to the recommended level.
Alone in the Dark 2 (PC)
Beaten. The game would be a lot better with a cleaned up combat system. I'm thinking more along the lines of Silent Hill, where you don't constantly have to shift your character's direction slightly to ensure his blows and shots land. You know, an auto-lock system, but one that's still intentionally hampered enough to maintain the game's scare factor. I can't count the number of near misses I encounter thanks to the protagonist being about ten degrees off target. Also, I wasn't big on the second game's lighthearted feel. I know the first one wasn't brutal by any stretch, but it also wasn't all that cartoony.
Anima: Ark of Sinners (Wii)
Wandering aimlessly, not sure where to go next. The game doesn't do a very good job of laying its expectations out for you, plus its cutscenes don't give you enough time to read the dialogue so you can figure any of that out.
The Vampire Conspiracy (2005)- A laughably bad indie horror movie that's basically Cube with a vampire. And by "vampire," I mean terrible foreign actor with frilly lace and a stereotypical combover. The movie started out enjoyable from a good-bad perspective, where it was a great accidental comedy, but it takes itself way too seriously and ends up clunking its way to groan-worthy revelations. It almost--ALMOST--has the entertainment value of another zero-budget movie called Subhuman (aka Shelf Life), but it's missing the hilariously pretentious chatter. Still, Conspiracy has this golden exchange:
"Avoid their gaze."
"Don't look into their eyes!"

I took a walk with my wife today on our favorite trail, and that was enough to snag the last Magikarp. I had been holding onto a "wonder" version, so when I passed 400, I evolved that one into Gyardos. Then I found another Magikarp, so I've leveled him up a couple of times to boot. He's definitely a high-CP monster for me. I just have to figure out what my next big goal is in the game, if any.

Congrats! Gyarados is a side project for me right now. My main goal was to get a Charizard. However, Niantic announced increased starter Pokemon spawns for the New Year's event, so I'm holding off on hunting Charmanders until then. Most of the Pokemon I still need are rare in this area (e.g. Porygon, Magmar, Tangela) or don't currently spawn often in this area (like Voltorb). I may have to wait until the next nest migration to jump on any major projects.
