So... uh... was that really the ending?

True - December 05, 2010 (12:13 AM) Yeah. It probably was. Weak, I will admit. But when you take into account everything that happened prior it almost seems trivial. |

Suskie - December 05, 2010 (12:19 AM) Yeah, ending sucked. I still say the last level was some kind of epic, though. |

zippdementia - December 05, 2010 (12:23 AM) Well, I don't know about that. For those who haven't played, I would advise not reading any further. I'll tell you one last thing... the music is awesome in this game. So, if I understand it right, the game just ends with Monkey and Trip having freed the slaves. But they don't say anything to each other, their relationship isn't resolved, and we don't know why it was hinted that Monkey is a mech. See, I think the game blew some big opportunities. It's single greatest moment is when Monkey tells Trip to put the slave crown back on him. But that moment is dealt with so quickly... It just strikes me as a typical video game in that they seem to have very little idea about how to actually write a story. It's like they go with their first draft, which has some great ideas but lacks the polish to be truly great. Shame. Overall, I thought the game had some intriguing ideas and was pretty inspiring. But it was mostly inspiring because there were so many gaps left in the story and script that I had about a million ideas about how to steal the premise and run with it. Other than that, I think the game was at its best in the first and last chapter. I'll send the game back soon, True. Thanks so much for letting me borrow it! I'm debating whether to try out "Pigsy's Quest" but it seems a bit much for $10.00 and what will be a one-time play. |

zippdementia - December 05, 2010 (10:56 AM) When her hair wasn't stabbing her through the heart, yeah, she was pretty cute. In that "I'm the grunge sister of Noriko" way. The game would occasionally forget to load her textures, which made her look like a tan barbie doll. Her voice acting was great. |
