Trudging on the challenge of EMP, I decided to tackle a difficult and eldritch letter: X!
This time, though, I fear my review may cause some controversy. For it is about a game forged to suceed one of the most important franchises in the history of gaming.
We shall see how many seethe in fury upon the sight of my words.
(or not!)

EmP - February 10, 2008 (06:57 AM) I did not like Apoc. I did not like it at all! I keep meaning to play it more than a few hours in, though. |

EmP - February 11, 2008 (08:04 AM) Again, I didn't get very far in, but I think what I hated was how you had to play it as an RTS just so poppers weren't game-enders. Because in turn-based, you simply do not stand a chance against them. Maybe I was too stuck on wanting another Enemy Unknown or Terror from the Deep to give if a fair shake. I keep meaning to give it another go at some point, but never manage to find the time to do so. |

zanzard - February 11, 2008 (01:54 PM) EmP, here's a PROTIP to you: In weeks 1 & 2, Playing the RTS battles is a good idea due to the many brainsuckers and some poppers. However, by week 3, switch to turn-based mode. Trust me, it will be MUCH MUCH easier from then on in Turn-based than RTS. Why? Entropy launchers! Against poppers, try using plasma, laser and disruptor against them. These shots kill them without "setting them off". Hard thing to do in week 1, but easier on week 2 with plasma pistol. When you get disruptor shields & armor, poppers will become a non-issue. |
