My roommates came home about an hour ago drunk as hell, which displeases me. But they brought some Brit with them which is the most fascinating thing ever to me. So now I'm waging a battle with myself between my frustration with party-happy roommates and my curious obsession with foreigners.
As it is now, though, I'm just going to stay here. I don't feel welcomed by them (the one that lives in my room closed the door on me after I asked what was going on... She seemed kind of snotty about it, but I suppose she could've closed the room off because they thought I was trying to sleep.).. Still, I'm shy anyway, and I'm not a fan of their activity, either, so there's no point in me socializing. I actually find it quite pointless to talk with drunk people because I find them quite incoherent.
Interestingly enough, the Limey is perfectly comprehensible. I just suspect he's not as drunk as they are. I mean, if I've learned anything from knowing EmP as long as I have, it's that Englishmen can drink twice as much as one of us and still be half as drunk. =D
Anyway, suffice to say, I can't sleep. I was wide awake before they got here since I was having fun watching Youtube videos of George Carlin with some of my friends. But I'd at least like to try and study. I have two finals in two days... and the history one needs a lot of time...
Oh well.
EDIT: Haha. He's staying the night here.

I would think living together would cause you all to bond at least to some degree. It's too bad you have to live with people who are snotty and don't want to include you. I'm pretty shy and reserved myself, but during my Freshman year at the dorms, I got along with my roomate. Then again, he was sort of a gamer too. :P |

darketernal - December 09, 2009 (06:20 AM) The best foreigner to be when intoxicated is to be either from Hungary or Netherlands, because both languages are such clusters of non comprehension that them being drunk would be non detectable by anyone except people fluent in the language....meaning, natives. |

wolfqueen001 - December 09, 2009 (06:58 AM) I get along with them alright; I just don't feel like a part of their social club. Which is fine because that mostly involves them going out to bars and such and then drinking before/after they get home. Still, these specific instances are rare - usually they just socialize with each other while watching TV or knitting or playing around on facebook or a combination of the three. Really, though, part of it has to do with me and my decision to isolate myself more frequently at the start of the semester (I was more concerned with studying... TO be honest, I have no idea how they manage to do well in their classes... assuming they do.). Also, all three of them knew each other before I came to this dorm, so that contributes greatly, I'm sure. Anyway, I'm a junior, so this is really the first time I've been maade to feel this way. Last year I got along great with my roommates, and freshman year I didn't have any miraculously. haha. DE: Hahahahaha. That's hilarious. |
