Or I will be... tomorrow...
I just went horse-back riding today, and it only cost $2! =D It was only an hour of actual riding, but I've only ever ridden a horse like one other time in my life, and that left me bruised, too.
It was really fun, though. I think I got the smallest horse out of the group, haha, but that's fine because I had difficulty getting on in the first place. >_>
My horse was a stubborn oaf. She didn't listen to me when I told her to trot (which we had to do several times as part of the ride and to catch up on occasion). I think most of that was just me, though. I'm not very strong with animals, and even when I did try to kick her hard, it still wasn't very strong. That's fine, too, though, because trotting was painful.
There were some amazing things that happened there, too. One involved my cell phone going off halfway through. Somehow I found the courage to answer it without fearing I'll fall off (I gots skillz). Then I was greeted with an automatic voice message rambling in Spanish. Like, that was the most random thing ever. How did a Spanish telemarketer get my phone number, anyway?
The horse the guy behind me was riding sort of fell, too, when trying to trot at one point... It was a little scary. He didn't fall off, though.
I almost fell off at one point because we were trotting, and in the effort to make my horse stay trotting (she liked to slow down every fifteen seconds), I had to keep kicking her, and my foot fell out of the stirrup.
My stomach cramped up halfway through, too. Which was interesting. I think I was thirsty. But trying to stretch that out while riding a horse was kind of difficult. It soon passed.
I heard tale of one horse kicking another in the face as the latter tried pulling ahead... Apparently, even though the attacker had stopped and wasn't doing anything, she didn't like being pulled up on. Both horses are fine.
When we got back, I swear I thought I couldn't feel my legs. I had to get help getting off, not just because I couldn't feel them, but also because I was afraid I'd fall... getting off the horse.
Man, I'm such a girl. >_>
It was fun, though... But I know I'm going to regret going out today... I haven't gotten anything done with my paper since I wrote the thesis for it a week ago. I had set today aside for paper writing. Now there's only like 7-9 hours left. >_> Still, I think it was totally worth it. Especially since I'll probably never ride a horse again. Or if I do, it'll be years from now... like it was last time.
Besides, I did get a lot of other work done yesterday; I needed a break. >_>
Now for a nap.
