Wolfenstein 3D turns 20, is free to play in browsers
On this date in 1992, Wolfenstein 3D was released, defining the FPS genre and bringing it into the mainstream with the help of Doom, which was released a year later.
To celebrate, id has released a free browser version of the game that started it all. For more mobile-friendly free Nazi blasting, the iPhone version is also currently free.
If you're hungry for more Wolfenstein, there's also a director's commentary video with John Carmack you can check out on YouTube.
PROTIP: To defeat Hitler, shoot at him until he dies.
