i don't know why but after playing Metal Gear Solid 4, i just haven't really been bothered to play any video games lately. most of the games i've played have left me feeling underwhelmed. the latest victim? Soul Calibur 4. i gave in and bought it after not buying any games for two months. it has some nice enhancements but the single player story mode was incredibly short and easy. i think i beat it within 10 minutes. at least virtua fighter 5 gave me a decent challenge and with all the continues it took me almost an hour to finish.

SoulCalibur IV is by no means a genius game, but I would suggest trying the "Arcade" mode instead of the story mode if you're looking for a slight increase in challenge. The tower makes things significantly harder from there. Story mode is actually the shortest, easiest mode in the game and that suited me just fine. There are a lot of characters to clear by the time you unlock them all!

10 minutes?! That's crazy. I remember having a good time with Soul Calibur 2's story mode. I never played the third game, though.

Two things:

1. Soul Calibur IV is a pretty underwhelming game regardless of what you played before it. Now that Tomonobu Itagaki is gone, someone out there had to carry the torch for Dead or Alive.

2. Do you play Metal Gear Online at all?

i played it for about several weeks then stopped. didn't like it at first then i started to like it almost as much as subsistence mgo. online is decent..i'll play it again when the mood hits. i liked Base. that was one of my favorite game modes.

agreed with you dudes about Soul Calibur 4, for my money the first is still the best by a pretty wide margin, and 2 is the only other one even worth bothering with.

jiggs, maybe it's just that there... haven't actually been any games worth playing since MGS4 came out, :P catch up on some games you've missed at any point, something's bound to hit home.
