there was a time when i played DJ Max on the Japanese servers but then i stopped playing after several months. the reason? many of the songs on there were locked as premium songs which you had to pay for, but nonetheless the songs that i did get to play were addicting. this in turn led me to check out the portable version on the PSP. DJ Max Portable gave me the chance to play 1/4 of the songs that I couldn't play on the PC version. recently i was thinking about playing DJ Max again on the PC. then i remembered reading about the CHinese servers where you don't have to pay to play any of the songs. so yesterday i made the effort to sign up an account and download the program. it was an easy process that i once thought would be too complicated thanks to the guides on the DJMaxInt forums. my DJMax addiction has taken over once again. the Chinese server is definitely alot better than the Japanese server. right off the bat, you can customize the skin of your gear(it's that hub where all the notes rain down). they give you one skin to start with, then after playing about 10 songs, you unlock an avatar. the japanese servers is really stingy with that. you have to earn alot of in-game points to buy avatars and skins. best of all, all the songs(i counted 94 so far) on the Chinese servers are free. they got some songs that are exclusive to the CHinese version. if you're a fan of rhythm games or Beatmania, you must try it. this really is the best rhythm game on the PC, in my opinion, other than Stepmania. download link below.
