I decided I was going to give in and but Metroid Prime: Hunters for the DS yesterday. Well, as you probably have guessed, I did. That was some of my Shadow of the Collossus savings, so now it's going to take a little longer to get one of my most anticipated games. I just couldn't help investing in this game though, it was so hyped. Oh yes, first impressions.
So far the game is fair. The controls are extremely innovative, but a little shaky at first. I've been playing for a few hours now, and the aiming is still a little hard to get used to. But, don't let that scare you away from this DS masterpiece. Like I said, I'm only a few hours into the game, but it's great. The graphics are superb, probably the best on the DS right now. The only real flaw I can find is that the two hunters I've fought so far have been way too easy. I took both of them down with ease, and like I said, I can't aim worth the shit, yet...
The morphball mode is slightly frustrating, especially with some of the tedious things they make you do. Waiting is probably the most annoying thing in Samus' ball state. You have to wait for everything, platforms to come down, enemies to move the hell out of the way, and laser beams to shut off. I am getting a little better at controlling the little sucker though.
If you have a DS I suggest getting this game. It has all the things a great game should have, and it's portable. I'm going to try and get a review written within the next couple of weeks, hopefully. Until then...I don't know.
