So, I got robbed at work on Friday.
May 20, 2007

As some of you know, I'm a bank teller. This woman comes in wanting to cash a $3000 check. She had the right ID, even looked like the person in the picture and had similar signatures. I look over the account she referenced on the back of the check and found no problems. I cash the check, give it to her. Then she gets greedy and tries to take out another $4000 from one of the accounts, stating that she was going to buy a car with it. That made me suspicious; what the hell kind of car dealership needs all cash? So I start looking over "her" other accounts (she had four of them). There was only one warning flag on a single account, stating that the customer's purse had been stolen today. When someone gets their stuff stolen, the bank is supposed to put flags on ALL the accounts. But since it was only on one (which I didn't look at when cashing the check) I didn't realize as it was too late. So I excuse myself to get an approval from my manager. She was smart; as soon as I left the window, the ***** bolted out the door and across the street with the 3K.

Hopefully she'll get caught. We have screenshot of her circulating throughout all the branches and police stations around. I personally locked all four of the real customer's accounts and made sure that every single one of them had a warning of what was going on. In the meantime, I'll probably get fired for negligence come next week. My manager has been looking for a good excuse to get rid of me for a while now. -_-;

Summary: Impersonator gets the better of me.
Summary of summary: ****.

On a lighter note, here's Bruce Campbell singing Duran Duran:

Damn, that SUCKS. Hopefully your boss will realize that you minimized the damage that could have been done, and hopefully that cocksucking bitch will get caught. At least she didn't point a gun at you.

Wow. That sounds like just about anyone's fault but yours. The employee that should have closed all of the accounts ought to be in trouble. And if they aren't, then someone should consider it a loss caused by hardware that didn't automatically display all related accounts so that you could see one of them was flagged.

She left with the money with you knowing everything about her? Not smart if you ask me.

Sorry buddy. Hope everything works out. It doesn't sounds like it was your fault, but these people can be evil.

Just about everything's been said, so, good luck.

Thanks for the Bruce Campbell clip. I never saw that before. That man needs some sort of lifetime achievement award.

I once sent an e-mail to Bruce Campbell complaining that his books never got released here. He sent one back saying sorry.

So I forward Bruce's sorry onto your unfortunate happenstances and hope they even out for you.

Is your boss a Bruce Campbell fan? If so, we could call Bruce up and see if he'll come to the rescue. I bet he'd do it to. Bruce is cool like that.

I hope you don't get fired due to political reasons. Being a scapegoat never feels good. Your manager is a jerk if he fires you because of something that didn't start with you in the first place.
