Another day, another post
June 13, 2008

Those of you who know me, all two of you, know that I am incredibly lazy. I just am, and it probably genetic due to being one half from Dalmatia, people who are the laziest sort here in Croatia. But we are charming and good people so we are forgiven.

So basically, the university work is still where I left it off some odd five years ago. I am on my last year with exams still left from my first year which is a nice enough loophole I suppose, Emp still nags with making me do constant reviews even when I really don't have anything to contribute(The One Must fall review for instance since I really don't think a game, any game deserves a 10. On the other hand, many-MANY games deserve a 1).

I am now on my WoW fix again after five months of not playing. I try to get two hours tops of game in it and even that feels like a chore. See, that is when you know you have a problem. When you are not enjoying a game and yet you still play it mechanically. Oh, there are a few good things about it, but my life would be certainly complete if I never met the damn thing. Speaking of which, I heard good things about Age of Conan, though I also heard it required Xavier's Cerebro machine so that it can run properly.

Comic wise, I have currently read through the entirety of the F4 so far, Spider-man and Hulk. Naturally, also read the Civil War and WWH and am now taking a bit of a break from Marvel and trying to get into DC. That seems to be the problem since I am moving with a snail's pace, and my first hero of choice is Green Lantern. I got through the Alan Scott golden years, now stuck in the sixties with Hal Jordan. Should work on that I suppose.

And of course, last but certainly not least, we rock in the Euro so far. The Austria game was horrid, but we won and in the end that mattered, but we kicked Germany's arse and are now comofortably in the first place in our group. Next stop Poland with the second team and after that the Czechs.

Here is a bit of a video that makes us giggle daily on the national television these days.

To end it all, indecent joke of the day:

What's the difference between Croats and Austrians?

Croats keep wine barrels in their basement.

Thank you, you have been a wonderful audience.

And you wonder why I go out of my way to make your life a misery.

Pfft. You're just jealous because England isn't in this Euro thing. I wonder what happened there.

Or maybe they don't count you in this.

I will now commencem aking fun of you. Hahahaha. >_>

Oh they count. They really, really count.
wolfqueen001 wolfqueen001 - June 13, 2008 (07:01 PM)
Haha. They must've messed up bad then. Or something.

EmP... I demand an explanation!

...unless you're too bitter about it and talking about it would just piss you off for some reason. Could never understand that whole grudge-anger with sports thing. Seems kind of pointless.

Though it is entertaining sometimes. Like during the World Cup however long ago. That was priceless.

It's an easy one: the England team consisted mostly of players who have failed to play well for country since 2004, yet the manager insisted in selecting them time over time, anyway.

Ah. Well, that sucks. For you. And for me because now I have no real reason to watch anymore. >_> I think Spain's out. Can't remember. Though, I suppose I could do DE a favor and watch for Croatia, but... I'm lazy. <_<

On a side note, God damn you're up late. The hell is wrong with you? Haha.

Please, lover quarrels outside my blog, thank you very much.

Ahem. Yes, they had a poor manager. Let's see how they go with the new one in the qualifications for the world cup.

Seeing how said manager has already shown Owen and Lamprad the door, I'm expecting things to somewhat improve.

I was a little worried when the first thing he did was try and talk Paul Scholes out of retirement (Don't get me wrong; Scholes is one of the best players on the planet, but it's not a step into the future).

But, I'm English. Knowing that we should be doing a lot better on the international scene then doing sod all is part of my inbuilt culture.

I heard England might be hiring some guy from Brazil. Or something. Is this true? I have no idea. And if so, is that good or bad?

Their manager/coach right now is Capello from what I remember, and despite being italian he is fairly capable. Especially when compared to his overpaid predecessor. Croatian manager has about one tenth of a pay when compared and he is vastly superior to Mcclaren in both practical, and seemingly theoretical expertise.
EmP EmP - June 15, 2008 (07:56 AM)
Yeah, it's Cap in charge now.

McClaren was a knee-jerk hiring. Guys always been a good second but a God-awful manager and I'm glad to see the back of him.

I like the Croat manager. When they played England, drab old Steve hid behind an umbrella while he ran up and down the sideline like he'd have seven or so too many coffees screaming instructions to keep the lead in a game they didn;t need to win. That's quite simply what England have lacked in the last decade: passion.

Foreigners have nicknamed him Rock God. He composed the new supporters anthem which is frankly horrible.

The reason why he jumps and runs around is because less then a decade ago he was one of those guys trying to score a bloody goal.

That, and unlike 90 percent of professional football players that have problems signing their own name, let alone anything else, he actually has a masters in law so it means he has more then two brain cells to rub together.
