Bought a PS3. . . (and other things)
September 07, 2007

Sort of. Got scammed by some Nigerian Paypal scammer. I know, I know - shut ya mouth, no lectures. With one minute left for bid on the 80Gig model at $460, I was so buzzed I didn't check the dude's user rating.

So yeah, I got scammed my nearly $500 amount. Piece of shit, me.

Anyhow; I should be fully reimbursed for the funds within the next month thanks to either Paypal, or my bank if Paypal fails to take the lead.

Being as it is, I went out today (to the store) and bought another (real) PS3. $450 for the 60gig, which I hear is better because of the PS2 chip inside of it - something like that. Piece of shit only came with a damned composite cable - dunno what else I thought I'd get, but. . .

No games yet. I'm waiting on the ESIV GotY edition and Dark Sector amongst others. Instead, I bought The Fifth Element on Blu-Ray, one of my favorite movies of all time. You just can't beat Milla's hard nipples, Willis' platinum, thinning hair, Oldman's G.W. Bush-esque Southern dialect, that kickass opera performance by The Diva, space Orcs, Ian holm as the rattled monk, speedy negotiations, and bleeding skull caps.

Yessir, I'm in love all over again!

As if I haven't been already (pah) I've decided to take a brief break from doing any sort of writing for the site. This should be painfully obvious to everyone after my one submission in a near seven week period. I need some sort of batteries recharged, but I'm not sure where they are or how to go about getting them the juice.

Within the next few months, I plan on getting around to making a video series that I'll put up on YouTube about day-to-day nutritional help and training advice; as well as unlicensed counseling episodes for the purposes of improving peoples' spirits. I think that it would be an interesting thing to try before I start the course for Health and Fitness next year at the college - and if I can manage to secure a PC with a capture card, I'll be doing a series of game reviews/discussions with two of my friends.

Last on the list is a series of gameplay tips: subtitles displayed across a video of the action will hopefully help people get a feel for some of the things I decide to tackle. I'm really burning to do a set of Two Worlds tutorial sessions, being that there's only one in the actual game.

On a final note;

I'm literally torn on what to think of BioShock. There's no denying that Irrational has provided an atmosphere that works and all-around awesome writing/acting. Oh yeah, and the graphics are nice. The problem I'm having with that, though, is that everyone's raving about how innovative it is. News to that crowd: Valve beat them to the punch with Half-Life some eight years earlier. Despite being genuinely eerie in most ways and a few twists on the genre, BioShock isn't much more than a conventional shooter. Is there anything wrong with that?

Well, that's what I'm asking myself.

CHEERIOS!

CRUSH

(By the way. . .

I started dating. A girl. Pretty awesome - she's a really nice person and she's almost two years older than I am. Hee hee. Older women. Fetish? NO! Delicate appreciation for rare maturity.)

:)

Two years isn't a big difference and it will seem like less of one each day you're together. I hope your relationship and schooling go well, and I hope you feel rejuvenated and ready to write reviews again in the coming months. Congrats on your eventual PS3 purchase. You should really start enjoying the system next year when the good games start hitting, and in the meantime you have a great DVD/BluRay player!

Thanks Jason; for the post and all the help you've given me recently. I'll make sure and put every bit of it to good use.

She's a keeper. I just hope I don't blow it.

The PS3 is cool so far. I went out and bought a component cable - heard the difference between that and HDMI was almost zilch, so I figured it wouldn't hurt.

Are there any games I should get now? I had Resistance when I first bought a 20Gig and didn't think much of it.

Yeah, crazy right?

Some BS about getting part of their fortune if you do some transfers for them with money orders and cashiers checks or something like that.
