Is there anyone good with Meta Tags that would be willing to give me some help?

The header pretty much says it all. I'm not too familiar with them aside from what I've read on Wikipedia. Just wondering if they're fairly easy to do, what it would take and if I can add them to an easy-build site like Geocities or Yola.

Thanks in advance for any info you can pass along.

Youtube keeps recommending these to me ever since I plugged in "Far From Home". I don't think I've heard a bad one by them yet.

Just put the various meta tags in between the < head > and < /head > tags near the top of your HTML source code (ahead of the < body > tag). Meta tags aren't as important as they used to be. You should be able to find descriptions of the 'description' and 'keyword' ones on any decent HTML tutorial site. Keyword ones should be divided by commas and you should ideally use around 8 or 10 terms. The description one should be kept short enough to be relevant to your page's content and useful to anyone who might happen to glance it if a search engine uses your description to describe your site (though search engines typically prefer to include a sample of text from your page instead).

Meta tags are falling out of use by most search engines. Google spiders, for example, don't even bother with meta tags anymore, giving more weight instead to the actual page content.

What are you trying to do with the meta tags?

Get onto search engines basically. Long story, but I had to go through Yolasite to build my website and they don't typically show up in search engines (or at least very high) and I was wondering if Meta Tags were something I could include in my site text or something that needed to be added within the site coding.
