 | When people online try to convince you they are on your side but aren't |
By now everyone knows how horrid people on twitter and anything related to social media can be. Everything from bullies harassing you and those who give you a false sense of security by siding with you as long as you always agree with what they say and think, otherwise they will turn on you and even side with said psychos attacking you online out of spite.
Such is the instance on when I was (am) dealing with a psychopath who obsesses over me since 2013 and even today is busy trying so hard to denounce me to anyone he sees me having a trifle with online, or even attempting in hacking accounts I have to divulge private info among other fake rumors in hopes one day the internet can get rid of me. This is the same idiot who I mentioned on that "justin whang" Discord server a few blogs back, joining up with those other bullies in getting back at me in a misguided belief that incurring fear in people is the way to deal with anything.
He would side with some kids from a gaming website I no longer care to go to, which did me wrong and apparently did the same to them despite them still being members of such. At that time the troll in question was busy on twitter, creating dummy spam accounts either impersonating me, or using others to divulge any private info he had on me including my phone number and home address, the latter he never was able to find but would not stop him from trying. I would talk this to those two other individuals from that website I mentioned, with them eagerly agreeing and trying to denounce said bully while I tried to keep my bearings and just hope one day he would just disappear and leave me the hell alone. For a while they seem complacent, and I would get along with them sharing anything about videogames since they were fans of such as well.
Then came a time when we had an argument. I will only state that I tried reasoning with one of them in leaving me alone for that moment so I would not have to resort in blocking him since he continued sending wave after wave of DMs trying to prove how wrong I was for one stupid argument we had. Needless to say he was the one blocking me and would go on his own timeline spewing vitriol about me calling me out even when he had blocked me in the first place. Not sure what happened to that guy, it was hard for me to understand after one measly argument he would start acting up like this. I got tired of giving him attention so I simply moved on seeing that his close buddy also ended up blocking me when trying to find out what their deal was.
Over time I found out that guy was now mutually following the psychotic troll who was bullying me. The same who he and his friend promised to help and seeing how this person was trying hard to ruin my life. After seeing that I made sure of never bothering with this person again, and that after all this time I've seen what kind of lunatic he really was. One thing is a person losing his sh*t having a huge head about anyone ever arguing with them online, but is a completely different tune when said people side up with those dangerous psychotic bullies who try to cause you harm online and this was the deal breaker for me about it.
I really don't care if he is still in denial about me. The fact he joins up with such people because I had a fallout with him online proved him to be in the wrong in all accounts. Will never associate with him, his friend, or anyone who would be close to him ever again.
And this is why I am always hesitant when it comes in befriending anyone online, making sure I never reveal more than I could ever be comfortable with because chances are they can use it against me at any given time.

Gaming has always been a safe place for me (especially during 2020) and it should be that way for everyone. I think this a pretty safe site from this type of behavior. Of course I suspect a lot of this site is old crudmugeons like myself just working through long gaming backlogs. |
