I may not fully understand this thing, but I don't trust it either. Conceited "business savvy" young men and others like JACK from twitter may go on strutting about it, but I have read many a word on the dangers this thing could lead if everyone trusts it that much. In short I believe this is yet another faulty business act which is not fully understood even by those conceited savvy hipsters telling you its the future, much like in that time when everyone with an internet connection in the early days would be urged to buy internet stock until the bubble finally burst and everything fell down into an abyss.
Now the idea of having an alternative way to fund your own thing is a welcomed one, and maybe you would invest on this bitcoin stuff, but at the same time you would have to be very careful about it in my opinion all the same, and try not to do some shady business on the dark web just because you believe it will be a sure bet by using this as means of transaction purposes. I have heard that unlike actually paper currency, bitcoin isn't easy to calculate and keep track of. Basically you would just be tossing golden coins at anyone else to get what you are investing on. I am yet to hear that anyone is using this means for a stock market deal on wall street and what not.
There's also that tidbit of bitcoin using energy to maintain it. I am not too sure about it if it requires such things to have it around and keep your own earnings alive. Again, this is just another red flag in the long run of things for me.
Until this bitcoin seems stable enough to be used worldwide and proven to be an actual asset for businesses and individuals to be used, as well as being NORMALIZED so it can't be an easy way to pay for undesirable transactions on the dark web and such, I am not bothering in even trying it out.
This is just an opinion of mine. As I said I don't know much about this bitcoin business but even if I did, I still am wary of it. Of course anyone who actually knows more than I ever bothered to with this thing can comment below and explain it to me, but my opinion still stands firm on not trusting it just yet. Just check your ego at the door should you try it.
