Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams review (XBX)Reviewed on April 03, 2018Silent Hill 2 is a masterpiece from back when Konami meant quality. But that's the PS2 version. Does this port hold up? |

Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams review (XBX)Reviewed on October 30, 2012It's a wonderful suffering, a beautiful nightmare worth every shudder and scream it can wring. |

Maximum Chase review (XBX)Reviewed on March 25, 2012Developed by Genki, the very same who created so many Tokyo Xtreme Racer games, MC is a hybrid title, meshing high-speed chases with on-rail shooting segments, all wrapped in a silly plot told through cutscenes involving live actors in front of CGI backdrops. It's as goofy as it sounds... which is why I wanted it. |

Final Fight: Streetwise review (XBX)Reviewed on March 11, 2012For me, though, there's one particularly insane, earth-shattering scene that sums up all the wrong things about Final Fight: Streetwise. I would like to note this happens AFTER you defeat a monster that attacks with electricity and replenishes health by eating mutant rats. |

Urban Chaos: Riot Response review (XBX)Reviewed on February 29, 2012Rocksteady Studios takes the concept of a city under siege and runs with it, no apologizes included. This first-person shooter is a pure action title all the way, providing a nearly non-stop, hot-blooded, M rated adrenaline rush from start to finish. |
||
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth review (XBX)Reviewed on July 26, 2011Lovecraft always waxed poetic about dangers “not to be met or dealt with, but only to be fled from as precipitately as possible.” None of his scholarly protagonists ever kicked Dagon's ass, or put buckshot into any of the Deep Ones. But that is what this game expects of us. |

The Incredibles review (XBX)Reviewed on May 30, 2011The story of Bob Parr and his gifted family of superheroes (wife, Mrs. Incredible; children, Violet and Dash) is told inexcusably poorly. When you finish the adventure, you still won’t know what the movie is about. |

NCAA Football 07 review (XBX)Reviewed on April 19, 2010Many games these days include other games within them. Like the proverbial play within the play, these games distract the player and provide additional amusement for their developers by adding often unrelated or alternate-genre material into a game about something totally different. We see this quite prominently in a game like Bioshock with its unending number of hacking minigames, and it has a certain appeal, especially when well done. What we see less of, unfortunately, is the game that is not... |

Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes review (XBX)Reviewed on September 26, 2009Play this with a friend, or don’t play it at all. Just don’t be too surprised if you’re no longer friends come endgame. |

JSRF: Jet Set Radio Future review (XBX)Reviewed on July 13, 2009When you really stop to think about it, Jet Set Radio Future is basically a fetch quest title: the main objective is to go around and search for tagged surfaces, so you can spray graffiti over them. Sure, it's slightly different since you're not collecting items when you find them, but the concept is the same. Apparently, Smilebit thought that wouldn't be enough, so they added a side quest where you do more fetching. Needless to say, this could have easily been an unfortunate wreck. |

Halo 2 review (XBX)Reviewed on May 04, 2009I never cared for Rainbow Six. While the idea of leading your own personal squad through an unrelenting series of skirmishes was right up my alley, Ubi Soft's acclaimed series focused far too much on nitty-gritty details and meticulous planning for my twitch-happy taste. That's probably why I loved the original Halo so much; having a bunch of Marines backing up your bloody rampages was enthralling, and the minimal amount of control you had over their behavior kept the game from... |

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time review (XBX)Reviewed on December 06, 2008The brainchild of Jordan Mechner is undoubtedly among the icons who defined the term "oldschool"; Prince of Persia is right up there with Sonic and Mario and the like. The original Prince of Persia, released in 1989, was a masterpiece of technology and even now, despite technological advances, the original game still looks great and plays very well, even in the context of the new generation. There are two things about PoP that stuck in the mind: one was the fighting system, and the other was Pri... |

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow review (XBX)Reviewed on November 26, 2008Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell left me in awe. When it was released it was easily the best stealth game, and although it had a few shortcomings, its awesome aspects more than made up for them. The idea of stealth and using your environments had never been used this effectively, and I can still recall some of the awesome situations the game put you in. I remember creeping in the dark sewers trying to follow guards unaware of my presence, cutting through a courtyard filled with mines and sni... |

Dreamfall: The Longest Journey review (XBX)Reviewed on November 12, 2008Having been a huge fan of Longest Journey, I was excited for Dreamfall. It was one of the reasons I bought an Xbox (now given away). In retrospect, I can't say I disliked the game, but I was definitely disapointed in some areas I never thought I'd be dissapointed in. |
