A sequel to one of the greatest games ever, using that same control system which made it work so well. This game should be great, or even better seeing they know what to fix from the first Zelda (even though that wasn't much). Problem is Majora's Mask is not even close to as good as Ocarina of Time, and is not near as fun to complete. I really don't know what went wrong, maybe it was the strange storyline, the decrease in good music, or the gameplay that just didn't have the same edge. Zelda: Majora's Mask is a dissapointment.

STORY (5/10): This story is very boring. You are in some parrelel world of Hyrule, and there are 4 giants who protect the world. The moon is coming down on you in three days. Keep repeating those three days until you win. This story is horrible. I understand why they didn't want to do another Ganondorf story, but this Zelda story is the worst besides possibly the classic nintendo ones!

GRAPHICS (17/20): The graphics are basically as good as Ocarina of Times. However they use the expansion pack, so shouldn't they be better. But they are not. These graphics are still fairley beautiful, but I expected so much more.

SOUND (9/10): This coming from the game with the greatest soundtrack ever. Why couldn't the same songwriters do as good in this game as they did in Ocarina of Time. But they didn't. This is a good soundtrack, but there are many better, and this is usually Zelda's strongest spot.

GAMEPLAY (38/45): This uses the same control Ocarina of Time did, and that is definitely a good thing. They are easy to use, and perform each task well. Now the addition to Majora's Mask, is the system to use about 25 masks. Really though only about 5 of these masks are useful, and 3 of those transform you into other beasts. This is not as fun as it sounds, and I would prefer to go out on my own just as Link with his trusty sword. However the transform masks does add a good deal to this game. There are still alot of puzzles to unravel in Majora's mask, and some mini-trading games. There are still the heart pieces to collect, although some are nearon impossible, unlike OoT. This game may not be as good, but the gameplay is alright.

REPLAYABILITY (6/10): I have only played through this game twice. It is not that long of a game in comparison to others of the Zelda series, and there are only 4 dungeons instead of 8. There are alot of masks to collect, however, but most of these do not take as long. This is another place where Majora's Mask is lacking.

DIFFICULTY (5/5): This game is much easier than Ocarina of Time, but then it should be. There is not as much to hold you in, as there was in OoT, and therefor if it was as hard more people would've given up. This game does it's job well, a quick reprive without too much difficulty.

OVERALL (80/100): Don't get me wrong, Majora's Mask is not a bad game. Just a dissapointing one. I expected alot more than I recieved when I bought this game. However I will keep this game, for it is not that bad, and it is one of the better games for the Nintendo 64. If you are a Zelda fan you probably already own this game, and really only Zelda fans will really enjoy this one. But if you are a fan, this game is a definite for you, for it is still good, and it does deserve to be part of the Zelda world, just not near the top.
