Skyward Sword save bug being fixed, at least in Japan
Well, Nintendo of Japan is fixing to do something about it. They published a message on their website today detailing plans to fix the affected saves. They'll be going about it two ways.
Recently, we reported that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword had a game ending bug. This bug occurs when players do the Lanayru Desert portion of the Song of the Hero quest before completing the Eldin Volcano or Faron Woods parts, also talking to a certain NPC at certain points in the quest. This prevents key events in Eldin Volcano and Faron Woods from triggering, making progression impossible.

First and more conveniently, they'll be releasing a downloadable Wii application that will edit Skyward Sword saves to make them playable again. Easy peasy.
Alternatively, those who somehow live in 2011 and haven't yet connected their Wii to the internet will be able to send their save file in to Nintendo for them to fix themselves. They can either copy their save file to an SD card and send that in, or send in their entire Wii console if even copying to an SD card is somehow beyond their means or mental grasp.
No date for the program has been announced, nor have plans to bring the program over to North America. They can't possibly leave Western Zelda fans high and dry, though, can they?
Can they?
