MythicOwl announced yesterday that it will make available additional content for its recent puzzle release, Hexologic. The update is free and is available now on Steam, iOS and Android, with a Nintendo Switch update to follow soon.

Hexologic is a hex-based puzzler, for those who like tile-based logic games such as Sudoku and Picross. The developers made things visually attractive and relaxing, which is supported by ambient music so you don't start stressing too much when a puzzle has you stumped.

The game has been available for a few months, and it sounds like that was plenty of time to sort through consumer feedback and find the most common complaint: "the game is too short!"

The added content includes 36 new levels, 2 new biomes and a variety of gameplay tweaks, as noted below:
  • New types of hexes with different abilities

  • New difficulty setting (limited assists, shuffled hexes)

  • Soundtrack extended with new, relaxing music

  • Improved in-game navigation (PC & Nintendo Switch)

  • Improved overall stability and bug fixes
It's nice to see the developer taking its title seriously, in an era where some indie developers have adopted a "ship and forget" mentality. Hexologic is available today and, while I haven't played it yet myself, I do have it in my library and haven't ruled out spending some time with it down the line. Now I just get to benefit from the oodles of new content once I do!
