Devolver Digital has been busy on the Nintendo eShop as of late, and the latest result of that admirable industry is a new compilation called Reigns: Kings & Queens. It is available now for a paltry $7.99 USD.

Developed by Nerial, Reigns: Kings and Queens includes two installments from the bestselling series: Reigns and its sequel, Reigns: Her Majesty. The game can be played by two people, as demonstrated in the darkly humorous trailer embedded below.

In the game, you assume the role of a monarch. You can be either benevolent or malevolent, depending on your whims. Your decrees are issued by swiping left or right, as if medieval life is one big Tinder moment.

"Survive the never-ending gauntlet of requests from your advisors, peasants, allies, and enemies while maintaining balance between the influential factions of your kingdom," suggests a cheery press release issued earlier today. "But beware; each decision you make might have implications and unfortunate consequences down teh road that could put your reign and family's dynasty at risk."

It's always a tragedy when a dynasty ends, right? In any event, the game is available on the shop right now and on my version of the shop, it's even offered for a 15% discount that has my finger itching to make a purchase. "Don't do it, Jason," I keep saying to myself. But I know that I still might.
