When Metro Exodus arrives on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on February 22, 2019, gamers will have their choice of multiple editions, with a variety of incentives offered to convince them to part with filthy lucre. What all they get depends on the platform they choose to support.

In Metrod Exodus, a band of survivors flees the shattered ruins of the Moscow Metro. They embark on a journey that spans the continent, enduring a post-apocalyptic Russian wilderness as they explore a vast survival sandbox.

Of course Deep Silver is offering a standard edition of the ambitious sounding game, which you'll probably be able to find all over the place, but the "Aurora Edition" is what today's news is really all about. It includes a copy of the game in an exclusive Steelbook case, a 32-page art book, and the Exodus Expansion Pass. The case itself was inspired by The Aurora, a steam locomotive that figures prominently in the game.

If you would prefer a digital copy of the game, you still can snag some cool rewards. The standard edition includes just the game, while the digital Aurora Edition also includes the Exodus Expansion Pass.

Whether you go the physical or the digital route, there are some additional rewards that vary by platform. Those who order the Xbox One edition will receive a digital copy of Metro 2033 Redux, which is quite handy if they don't already own it. PlayStation 4 gamers can receive a Dynamic Theme, which is based on "Winter" artwork. And finally, PC and Steam owners will secure a digital art book, as well as the Metro Exodus official soundtrack.

In an unusual but welcome twist, you won't have to pre-order the game to secure upcoming in-game content. You can buy the game at any time to enjoy "the full experience as 4A Games intended it." The developers at 4A Games also indicate that after the game has gone gold, they will continue to support it with updates and free DLC (more info will come closer to its release).

As noted above, Metro Exodus arrives on February 22, 2019, for all three platforms. The game is available now for preorder from its official site, as well as from Gamestop and likely other retailers in the near future.
