Exploring the Gameboy titles which I never got a chance due to never owned said system in my youth. Final Fantasy Legend is a title which is the first in the SaGa series, the reason why is so different to any FF title that was out then. It's quite interesting that you don't earn exp based on enemies killed but rather get better on stats instead.

I never played Final Fantasy Legend, a fact that bugs me to this day. I actually did buy Final Fantasy Legend III, when Sunsoft published a reprinting for some strange reason... but I didn't have time to give it the attention I should have and I keep forgetting I still own it.

FFL3 is more like a typical RPG than a SaGa game, compared to the first two, as I recall. You have actual characters instead of picking classes with their own rules and I think you get XP and levels like normal instead of having stats go up here and there or having to buy upgrades like in FFL.
As for FFL, I played it once. And that's all I'll say about that...
