I would like to ask a favor of all who have read my entry on music and flamed me, due to the fact that I happen to-- shudder-- enjoy Linkin Park. While some of you may think this is grounds for a hanging, have you ever stopped to think about the fact that this is my personal opinion? Heck, guys, it's within my rights as an American to be allowed to like a certain band that some other people don't like! Likewise, it is within your rights to hate whatever bands you like. But, in the intrest of respect, I'd like you to please stop jeering at me about it.

To give an example of the kind of insults I get for this opinion o' mine, I will tell the story of one of my readers (who, for the sake of his respect, not mine, shall remain anonymous) and his replies. He responded to my blog post with his opinion that Linkin Park is awful, which was okay.

At least, it would've been okay, had he not responded to another one of my posts about a different music-related topic. He subtly stated that "You like Linkin Park, therefore your opinions on music are no longer valid", and went on to say that "it's fitting that you enjoy those excruciating [band/game other than Linkin Park deleted for the sake of anonimity] songs."

For the final insult, I checked out his bloody blog, and do you know what his latest entry was about? It was all about how Linkin Park is awful!

I'm not challenging your rights to hate Linkin Park. I'm just asking you to acknowledge my rights to enjoy whatever band I wish to, and please respond politely to my entries, regardless of the subject matter.

Oh, and if there are going to be any flames, please leave them in your fireplaces and out of the face of this innocent Linkin Park fan who has done you no personal wrong. Deal?

If it makes you feel better, I get crap for owning Dragon Force, Lordi, Shonen Knife, Mindless Self Indulgence, Atari Teenage Riot, Modest Mouse, and Macy Gray. Feel free to bash accordingly.

Big & Rich are awesome. Aerosmith is cool and I like most Green Day. I get made fun of for my taste in music all the time, but I still like them and I still don't hate the people who make fun of me... except bluberry.
