The HonestGamers forums should be kept friendly, fun and informative, like the overall site. Everyone posting on the site is expected to adhere to the following guidelines:
Profanity should be kept to a minimum.
Posts may not contain or link to pornographic or similarly "adult-oriented" content.
Posts must not discriminate against or attack another member of the community on the basis of race, religion, gender, political affiliation or physical/mental disability.
Hostile posts suggesting that other members of the community "get good" (or similar) are considered harassment, and will generally be deleted if they detract or derail positive discussion.
Users are not permitted to spam the forums (i.e. post repeatedly) products or services.
Spoilers must be clearly marked, ideally within the title of a thread.
While discussion of such topics is fine and even expected in a gaming community that caters to retro gamers, posts should not link directly to emulators, ROMs, or torrents.
The above guidelines are general, and should be followed as closely as circumstances permit. Failure to follow guidelines may result in an account ban, with or without prior notice, at staff discretion.
