Clerks 2
July 17, 2006

Well, I feel really, really pathetic. The Kroger not five minutes' drive from my house is hiring, and yet, the have niether e-mailed me nor called. It's fucking KROGER. Retarded high school FRESHMEN can get hired there, and I, graduated and in temporary limbo can't even get a job. My GOD finding a job sucks.

Anywho, I want to see Clerks 2 with a couple of my friends this weekend. If my buyer of Inuyasha manga comes through, I'll have enough. But somehow, I doubt it. Maybe I need to start calling other people and see if they're interested. And I really need to fart right now, but I'm in a library. But I do hope that Clerks 2 is good; at least it's in color.

My poser friend Matt said that they had an opening at an EB games... but will they hire me if fuckin' Kroger won't?

Besides all of the ugliness of looking for a job, I've got 15 pages done for the 20 page Tokyopop competition. Wo0t. After I'm done, I'll redraw it in the standard form, ink it, and mail it in. Man, I want that $1000. I'll use some of it for college, of course, but I want a PS3 and a WII. That may take up the entire $1000, though... oh well. I have some in the bank.

And, I have to say, Bluberry, I freaking love your icon. It always makes me so happy.

Ja.

Don't feel down. I once applied at McDonald's and they didn't hire me. I showed them, though. I went back and pretended to be interested in a management position.

What I've found is that you can be over-qualified for some jobs. If you think it'd be cool to work at EBGames or whatever, apply. The worst they can do is not hire you, or maybe send assassins after you.

The latter seems unlikely.

I have it from reliable sources (people who work there) that working at EB is nowhere near as enjoyable as you might think.

Apparently, gamers are an annoying lot who are hell to deal with and refuse to shut up. Who knew? >_>

Plus it seems that they have to ask people if they want a strategy guide every time they buy a game.

I suppose so. EB games is a kind of shotty, back alley version of Gamestop to me... It makes me kind of sad, though.

I know basically everyone at the EB near me and they like it because all of the people working there are awesome, but on the other hand, I've heard the horror stories from other people who hate working at game stores. I'd guess that it depends mostly on your coworkers. Hope you had sunglasses for that blinding flash of the obvious.

And thanks. I pretend that making fun of different black metal clowns makes it acceptable that I like their music. It lets me sleep at night. Though don't think that more random compliments will make me want to fly out to Texas for you--I see through your plot and it's doomed to failure!
