Discworld review (PSX)Reviewed on March 13, 2015Once you get out of the University, you'll get to see that the rest of the town is not much better. Ankh Morpork is a circular city with it's own map over which you'll travel to various areas and meet some really colourful individuals, like the retired adventurers who never stop yapping about how they killed ogres, dragons and the like in their days with nothing but their well oiled muscles and bravado. Or the World's tallest dwarf…which is basically a human, but he identifies himself as a dwarf... |

Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! review (PSX)Reviewed on February 17, 2015And now I'm all nostalgic for retro mascot platformers. Thanks, Spyro... |
Armored Core: Project Phantasma review (PSX)Reviewed on February 16, 2015Despite the fact that you can play it as a standalone adventure, the experience feels incomplete if you haven't first played Armored Core. |
Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft review (PSX)Reviewed on January 31, 2015Strictly for the hardcore. |
Armored Core review (PSX)Reviewed on November 08, 2014Armored Core is the kind of game you either love or hate. |
Tomb Raider II review (PSX)Reviewed on September 16, 2014To get to where you need to go you'll be doing running jumps, backflips, wall-hangs, and all the other good stuff you remember. It's just that now, nearly every opened door will result in a firefight. |
Tomb Raider review (PSX)Reviewed on September 07, 2014For a time, it seemed that Lara Croft was poised to take her place among the likes of Pac-Man and the Nintendo pantheon as an icon who transcended gaming and became truly mainstream. |
Metal Gear Solid review (PSX)Reviewed on September 05, 2014Stuck somewhere between awkward social commentary and a one-series war against interactivity. |
Tail of the Sun review (PSX)Reviewed on March 24, 2014An open world that should remain closed |
Final Fantasy IX review (PSX)Reviewed on July 01, 2013In all of its pretty, purposeful pastiche, it forgets it needs to be something playable. |
Silent Hill review (PSX)Reviewed on June 21, 2013Widely considered one of the greatest survival horror games ever, does it really hold up today? |
Koudelka review (PSX)Reviewed on April 24, 2013Occasionally, I am overcome by the urge to try something different. When it comes to video games, “different” is precisely the sort of term that someone might use to describe Koudelka. Another apt label is “interesting,” thanks to the variety of good ideas that the developers implemented. Perhaps the game’s most noteworthy quality, though, is the way that it combines familiar survival horror and RPG elements to create a unique new experience with the potential to be truly special. |

Battle Arena Toshinden review (PSX)Reviewed on March 29, 2013Battle Arena Toshinden is a forgettable fighting game overshadowed by its brothers. |
Resident Evil 2 review (PSX)Reviewed on March 18, 2013Rest assured that Resident Evil 2 flies the flag for survival horror. Then, with the other hand, it injects itself with a syringe full of G-Virus and mutates into something bigger and badder than before. |

Spyro the Dragon review (PSX)Reviewed on February 03, 2013Level designs often pair different sorts of beasts and toss them into a compact space. In Alpine Ridge, you’ll face armored rooster people that try to smack you with their scepters. In the same general vicinity, you’ll also encounter grotesque bears and druids that have a habit of moving platforms around. |
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night review (PSX)Reviewed on January 20, 2013I cherish so many facets of this game that even its minor flaws--which are heavily overshadowed its stellar exploration elements, strong atmosphere, breathtaking visuals, and fantastic soundtrack--occupy a special place in my heart. |
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone review (PSX)Reviewed on December 29, 2012Actually playing the game itself isn’t quite so bad, though it is horrifically easy. You’ll likely require only a few hours to beat it, and only a very small portion of the obstacles you face during that time will prove even remotely challenging. |
Silent Hill review (PSX)Reviewed on December 20, 2012Silent Hill draws a map of the human psyche and at the edge of that map places a sign reading “Here be Monsters.” |
Silent Hill review (PSX)Reviewed on October 29, 2012I feel for you, genuinely feel for you, if you've yet to play Silent Hill. |
Clock Tower review (PSX)Reviewed on October 03, 2012Clock Tower has some bite to it, mostly because you are not as enabled as Leon Kennedy or even Alan Wake. Your choice of heroes includes a school girl, her not-combat-trained friend, an investigator, and a reporter. In other words, you're screwed. |
