The Granstream Saga review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownYou see the enemies, then you battle them. The battle engine is an over-and-behind view, and it plays kind of like a fighting game. The control is horrible, because your character walks painfully slow, and it's hard to turn. |
Parasite Eve review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownParticularly nice in the opening scene is a pan across the Statue of Liberty — rendered so beautifully, yet bearing a disturbingly sad look upon its face... the setting is so quiet and calm that you just know something horrible is going to happen. |
Crash Bandicoot review (PSX)Reviewed on Date Unknownit's a fun, and indeed, frantic platformer which you could play for five minutes at a time and still get plenty of satisfaction. |
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownCrash may be dumber than Mario, but he's the king of what he does. |
The Need for Speed review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownWith six tracks to choose from and a selection of authentic sports cars, The Need for Speed was the obvious choice for the gamer who wanted something else (or something more). You can choose from time trial, head to head, single race and tournament modes, and you can play with a friend by way of split screen or the little-used Playstation link cable. You can customize sound and controls to your liking. There are almost more options than you know what to do with. Unfortunately, most of the good news ends right there. |

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownCan you bear it? That's the test |
Resident Evil review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownA timeless blood-stained classic. |
Guardian's Crusade review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe graphics are pretty good, but don't have enough detail. They don't do anything that hasn't already been done. They are polygonal characters, in a 3D world. This proves to handle pretty well, for the Playstation. Completely 3D. |
Kartia: The Word of Fate review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownAt least Kartia has an innovative story and battle system. The story has to do with monsters called Phantoms, that can be be summoned from cards called Kartia. In the game, your characters aren't your main attacking force. Your Phantoms are. Certain members of your party are able to create Phantoms. |
Dino Crisis 2 review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe game looks better than its prequel, but it just makes it a bit more awkward to navigate in the 2D world. Since you can't go ''anywhere'', like in a 3D game, it's sometimes hard to judge exactly where things are, where you can go, etc. |
Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe voice acting in the cutscenes can sound a little bit annoying, but so what? And it comes with a full soundtrack! How convenient. There are 2 songs in the game that have real singing, in english! |
Final Fantasy Anthology review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownI think the games could have been a little harder, just to make things a little more interesting. But games like Final Fantasy 8 that require many, many, many hits against the bad guys in order to defeat them make me appreciate this game's challenge level more. |
NFL Blitz 2000 review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe sound in this game is one of its donwfalls. I guess that the small amount of music that is in the game is ok, but the voice acting that sometimes comes up between players is simply laughable! |
Final Fantasy Anthology review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownHowever, another massive mistake Square made was in the emulation of the Super Nintendo games onto the Playstation format. There's tremendous lag time between when you push a button, and when you see the results on screen. It can take up to ten seconds to get in or out of the menu screen. |
Parasite Eve review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownAfter a while the battles can get long and tedious, but fortunately it has enough gruesome FMV cutscenes to leave you gasping for more. The game doesn't have many extras; it's pretty straightforward. |
Final Fantasy Tactics review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownForget about all the other standard console role playing games, like Final Fantasy 7 or Chrono Cross. Or about the wargames such as Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre. Final Fantasy Tactics backhands them in the face, insults their mothers, and then kicks them square in the stomach while they're down. |
Final Fantasy VII review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownStarting with a beautiful opening cinema, FF7 quickly jumps into the action with nice polygons and beautiful, pre-rendered backgrounds. In-game spells and attacks look great, especially the cinematically perfected summon spells. |
Revelations: Persona review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownWhen you went into a random battle, you could ''talk'' to the monster, and sort of become friends with it. It was an innovative idea, but very stupid. I didn't like it one bit. This was a major turn-off for me, and probably would be the same for other RPG-ers. |
Final Fantasy VIII review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe music is uninteresting for the most part (with the slight exception of a few good songs), and the graphics leave much to be desired. It can be fun at times, but most of the time the game seems like a chore. |
Shadow Madness review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe story in this game is its peak. It's quite good, actually. It's about a plague, and well... a plague. It doesn't sound like much, but it really does prove to be involving, and somewhat suspenseful. |
