Viking: Battle for Asgard review (PS3)Reviewed on December 03, 2009Gruesome. In a word, it's what Viking: Battle for Asgard strives to achieve. A rival viking stumbles dead after the cut of your blade, an 'X' icon next to his still upright corpse. There's a difference between slaughter and sending a message. You could let his body fall by the wayside, focusing on the flock advancing. Or you could warn the impending legion of their doom. Tap that 'X' in time and watch as Skarin mercilessly gores the deceased on his blade before decapitating the mini... |

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 review (PS3)Reviewed on November 26, 2009War doesn't change a damn thing no matter how noble the cause, especially during these times in the so-called, "War on Terror." Take out one evil and another more evil one takes its place. The ones who die become martyrs. Their bloodshed gives breed to new followers. War is a convoluted power struggle where yesterday's enemies will become tommorow's allies or something like that.. |

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time review (PS3)Reviewed on November 18, 2009The hunt for more weapons is one of the things that should keep you busy playing A Crack in Time. There actually aren't all that many unique locations to explore, but taking the paths less traveled can take awhile and prove worthwhile because you never know when you might find some new modification for your weapons. The gear that you might find serves as a practical reason to travel to every last nook and cranny. With such an excellent array of weapons, you won't want to miss a thing. |

inFAMOUS review (PS3)Reviewed on November 16, 2009I was always a fan of the Ultimate Spiderman game. Even after I finished it, I would start it up simply for the purpose of jumping off high buildings and web-slinging away at the last minute. It was pure, unadulterated fun. I could not wait, then, when I heard of inFamous. Having invested roughly thirty hours in the game, I can say those comparisons are warranted in some respects and not so much in others. |

Demon's Souls review (PS3)Reviewed on November 14, 2009The castle reeks of death. The path leading up to the main gate is littered with corpses. Maggoty, stinking bags of flesh left to rot where they fell. The horses, too. Their bodies were ripped open, with their loads and carts broken on the cobblestone. The crows are already at their flesh; pickings in Boletaria have been very good lately. The inside of the castle is worse. That gaping entrance leads into a seemingly endless black abyss, as if it were the mouth of some otherworldly beast. ... |

Need for Speed SHIFT review (PS3)Reviewed on November 10, 2009Those who have been listening to the hype should be well aware of EA’s intent to push the series deeper into simulation gaming. But this doesn’t mean that SHIFT is going to compete with Forza and Gran Turismo – far from it. In fact, the game is somewhat of an arcade/simulation mix that could appeal to gamers who were never quite satisfied with the work of Turn 10 Studios and Polyphony Digital. |

Tekken 6 review (PS3)Reviewed on November 07, 2009Jin Kazama has turned evil. It was inevitable, even if it seemed unlikely. You’d never think he’d actually go through with it - he’s practically a saint compared to some of the other characters - but the temptation was too great. Jin has taken control of the Mishima Zaibatsu, but he’s not interested in using it for the sake of justice or peace. Instead, he used the corporation to build an unbeatable army and intends to conquer the world with it. He’s accomplished more than any of his predecessor... |

Critter Crunch review (PS3)Reviewed on November 01, 2009Critter Crunch is a heck of a bargain at $6.99. With a solo adventure that should easily take 5 or more hours to complete, multi-player and several other modes, you'll be puzzling it out for quite awhile. Addictive and endearing gameplay and offbeat humor make this puzzler one worth watching. If you're looking for the latest brain teaser to add to your game library, Critter Crunch is a fantastic choice. |

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Republic Heroes review (PS3)Reviewed on November 01, 2009I'm a big fan of games that refrain from forcing the player to re-play lengthy segments that he's already conquered just to tackle a challenging bit at the end, but Republic Heroes accommodates amateur gamers to a crippling extreme. There are maybe two or three segments in the whole game where you'll have to make more than three or four jumps without passing another checkpoint. Not only that, but anything that you've accomplished remains in place. So if you pass a checkpoint just ahead of a shootout with a bunch of enemies, the most you lose if you die is 2 or 3 seconds of play before you can return to the fray to mop up any of the remaining enemies who didn't fall on your first attempt. |

Demon's Souls review (PS3)Reviewed on November 01, 2009What would happen if Godzilla and the Alien from Ridley Scott's movie had gone to hell to merge together, then came back as a hideous demon with a lean eight-pack(yes I said eight since it's not human..) and a mean punch that Captain Falcon would be proud of? Why you would get the towering monstrosity known as the Dragon God! Its roars are deafening even from far away. Your heart is beating fast. Its rage is seething uncontrollably that it never stops moving. Yet all you can do is wonder ... |

Army of Two review (PS3)Reviewed on October 26, 2009I am quite surprised to see that nobody has written a review for this game yet. Where to begin; this game does not take place in the present day, it starts in 1994, when private militaries start to take a stronghold in wartime affairs. The story quickly moves forward into the war on terror that started in 2001 and from there things get interesting, focusing on the problems of the day while adding a litte twist to the events and throwing in some humor. The characters are well put together and are... |

NHL 10 review (PS3)Reviewed on October 23, 2009NHL 10 is inarguably the epitome of EA’s drive to make the ideal hockey game and at this point, there really is no looking back. My only gripe is that after 09 we had so much more to look forward to. |

Final Fantasy VII review (PS3)Reviewed on October 22, 2009Those who write Final Fantasy VII off as "emo" forget that it isn’t a game about a whiny group of teenagers. Cloud starts off as a cocky dick. The gamer is given the rare opportunity to witness the fall of this character. By the end, perhaps Cloud is a little depressing. But it takes him 40 hours of psychological and emotional abuse to get there. |

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 review (PS3)Reviewed on October 20, 2009Tough guy fulfillment has all but gone up in purple smoke. That the game’s infamous obstinacy has mellowed only serves to make matters worse. Areas crawling with menace that had you sweating your way through, barely able to come up for air, now smack of bland formula and the perfunctory: run, beat up a few guys, run, beat up a few more, earn a new skill, endure long loading times at the pause screen, start running again… |

Heavy Weapon: Atomic Tank review (PS3)Reviewed on October 20, 2009Heavy Weapon is yet another downloadable game that debuted on XBLA long before PSN, giving PS3 owners pretty much the same game that Xboxers have been able to buy and play for a long time. This isn’t always a bad thing, and it’s still a title of worth so long as you’ve not already got the previous copy snuggled away on your 360’s hard drive and you’re a fan of a screen full of explosions. |

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves review (PS3)Reviewed on October 17, 2009Much ado has been made of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and for good reason. It's entirely possible that no other video game has ever come this close to replicating the motion picture feeling. Perhaps I should clarify: it's entirely possible that no other video game has ever come this close to replicating the summer action blockbuster feeling. |

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves review (PS3)Reviewed on October 15, 2009Ever wanted to explore an ancient civilization? Make a living as a treasure hunter living on the edge? Jump from truck to truck while fighting for your life? Save the world? Uncharted 2 is the game for you. |

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 review (PS3)Reviewed on October 11, 2009More of the same. That’s my summary for those of you with short attention spans. If more of the same is what you’re looking for in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2, then you won’t be disappointed. For the rest of you, you can still have fun with the formula, if you have the right group of people. |

DiRT 2 review (PS3)Reviewed on October 10, 2009Designed for thrill-seeking racing fans that embrace the idea of bending rules (specifically those involving the survival rate of accidents), DiRT 2 is everything the first game was and more. |

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 review (PS3)Reviewed on October 07, 2009As part of the remake's emphasis on "enjoyable experience" above "ball-busting brutality", the scenery and characters have been gorgeously revamped; the rooftop view of Mount Fuji left me speechless, and the moonlit Tokyo gardens left me breathless. These backdrops are populated by high-resolution ninjas, demons, and robotic spider-women. Unfortunately, even though the basics are beautiful, some of the details don't quite fit. |
