WarioWare, Inc: Mega Microgame$! review (GBA)Reviewed on December 09, 2003Do you have a short attention span? Do long, drawn-out adventures like Final Fantasy X hold your interest for a while and then gather dust on a lonely shelf with the rest of your unfinished games? Do you take pills because a talking head in a white coat brainwashed you and your parents into believing that your hyperactivity inhibits all normal interaction with society? If so, then you may not know it yet, but Wario Ware Inc.: Mega Microgames is screaming to you from the confines of its glass dis... |

Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Revival review (GBA)Reviewed on December 09, 2003If anything, Super Street Fighter II Turbo Revival (Capcom, 2001) takes home the award for longest name of a Street Fighter game. Why, slap on some EX + Alpha Double Third Strike Zero X and you've got yourself a bona fide super jam-packed fighter! However, it's easy to see how such a game would be overlooked, seeing as how many people have already played SSF2 at some point in their lives if they dare to claim to be anything of a Street Fighter fan. This is in addition to the fact that many peopl... |

Monster Rancher Advance review (GBA)Reviewed on December 09, 2003Monster Rancher is a series that has enjoyed a smooth ride with very few major hitches, and it is possibly even more of a smash hit than Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh if you consider that it has met with prosperity despite lacking any hype or a successful cartoon (obviously a very important quality) to back it up. Though there have been so many variations implemented as to make the games more suited to highly eclectic tastes, overall the trilogy and its spinoffs have been well-received by critics and high... |

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance review (GBA)Reviewed on December 06, 2003What this means is that if you're willing to devote enough time to the effort, you can have a kickass warrior who isn't afraid to cast a healing spell every once in awhile. Of course, the downside to all of this is that while you're learning those killer mage skills, you're weak to physical attacks from enemies. Or while you're learning how to handle a sword, you're dumb as a post and can't use magic. |

Robotech: The Macross Saga review (GBA)Reviewed on October 30, 2003Scouring the libraries of the original GameBoy, Sega’s Game Gear, Atari’s Lynx and the NeoGeo Pocket yields precious little. Finding a portable shooter has always been akin to a diehard gamer finding a girlfriend. And finding an exceptional portable shooter… well, that’s like that diehard gamer having a girlfriend and knowing what to do with her. Sadly, while somewhat enjoyable, in the end, Robotech: The Macross Saga leaves us with blue balls once again. |

Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand review (GBA)Reviewed on October 09, 2003Imagine the Metal Gear Series if it joined forces with Castlevania, and some crazy scheme to get indoor-bound gamer-geeks out in the sun, where their pale skin will sizzle and pop...And you should get an idea of the general concept behind Boktai: The Sun is in your Hand. |

WarioWare, Inc: Mega Microgame$! review (GBA)Reviewed on September 17, 2003There is a moment in this game that will live in infamy. One of the 200+ games is called simply 'Pick', and has you timing a button press so as to insert a finger up a nose. You will probably fail the first time simply because you are laughing so much. But, you'll forgive the game, because about 5 seconds later you have to do something else equally insane. |

Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure review (GBA)Reviewed on September 06, 2003A Tony Hawk's Pro Skater copy, but with Disney characters? |

Metroid Fusion review (GBA)Reviewed on August 31, 2003When Metroid came out for the NES way back in the ancient days when 8 bit graphics were considered cool, I was enamored with the unique type of gameplay it featured. Sure, the game was mighty challenging due to the lack of a map feature and the fact that 90 percent of the rooms looked exactly like one another minus the different color schemes, but most of the fun and intrigue came from mapping out the areas by yourself and then collecting items that would help you get from Point A to Point B. Su... |

Breath of Fire review (GBA)Reviewed on August 31, 2003Breath of Fire was a game released by Squaresoft but produced by Capcom way back in 1992. I should have known something was up right off the bat. The official excuse I keep hearing is that Capcom was too weary of selling a RPG in America, so they licensed the king of all that is RPGing to publish the game. While this makes sense, I have also heard an interesting theory that said Capcom didn't think the game was all that great, and therefore let Square handle it in a last-ditch attempt to sell co... |

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow review (GBA)Reviewed on August 31, 2003I remember when I wanted a sequel to Symphony of the Night. It seems like such a long time ago now, since there have now been THREE Castlevania games on Game Boy Advance, and they've been released in a span of about three years. You may think that the games suffered from a lack of quality due to the quick turnover rate of them, but nothing could be further from the truth. |

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow review (GBA)Reviewed on August 11, 2003I think of Aria as SotN-lite - a wonderful experience, one of the best Castlevanias of all time, yet it ends far too quickly. If you’re thinking about purchasing it, you’ll have to ask yourself whether or not you’re willing to shell out 30 hard earned dollars for 8 hours of fun. |

Dokapon: Monster Hunter review (GBA)Reviewed on August 10, 2003I liked the title of the game so I got it. It turned out to be a mediocre RPG but still decent and I like it... after all. |

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow review (GBA)Reviewed on July 27, 2003At first I was skeptical about purchasing Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. My original thoughts were one of disapointment that they would be taking my favorite series and moving it into the future. I thought it would be a diversion of the original gameplay, and I expected to see a game that was subpar in this great series. For a while my thought were even considering boycotting a Castlevania game, something I never thought my brain could process. But when the time came around, and Aria of Sorrow was... |

Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis review (GBA)Reviewed on June 22, 2003Ogre Battle has become a fairly popular series on American shores, and for a good reason. Tactics Ogre found its way through Atlus, and I looked forward to playing this game. I am sad to say, it was not near as good as I dreamed. The game became almost a chore to completely beat, and I would spend weeks on end not playing it, because I really did not have the ambition to go play it. There are some positive aspects to Tactics Ogre, but for every positive there is a negative. |

Golden Sun review (GBA)Reviewed on June 20, 2003Despite the attractive environment that the game immersed me in, what dawned on me quite early on into the adventure was that Golden Sun actually seems to purposefully conspire to make the process of playing it as mundane and drawn out as possible. |

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow review (GBA)Reviewed on May 15, 2003Aside from the soul-absorption ability, you can also pick up weapons! That's right, just like in Symphony of the Night, the main character can arm himself with swords, axes, maces, even a gun. |

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow review (GBA)Reviewed on May 13, 2003Nothing feels particularly refreshing. You've seen all the tricks before, they impressed you at the time, and now there's this overwhelming sense of deja vu. Some of the absolute coolest bosses in the game, for example, feel like they were ripped straight out of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Which makes sense, as they obviously were. |

Metroid Fusion review (GBA)Reviewed on May 04, 2003First of all, I would like to say I believe this is the best of all the Metroid games, rivaled only by it's prequel Super Metroid. It is entertaining, and has a difficulty that is able to be conquered. It's not the simplest game, and it takes awhile, but once you figure out the bosses weaknesses everything is beatable. I enjoyed my time through Metroid Fusion, collecting items, and shooting up bad guys. While it is anything but a perfect game, it is enjoyable nonetheless. |
