Hitman: Contracts review (XBX)Reviewed on December 24, 200547 is a bona fide BADASS. In the short time it's been since he became an assassin, he has ignited a gang war in Hong Kong, faced a jaguar in the jungles of Columbia, had the BALLS to kill someone being escorted by U.N. troops, and went up against 132 ninjas just to ruin one man's shit. But even the baddest of badasses have their off days. This is apparent at the beginning of Hitman: Contracts, where a mission goes awry, and you witness 47 fleeing to his hotel room, half-dead. |

Castlevania: Curse of Darkness review (XBX)Reviewed on November 23, 2005Honestly, I wasn't expecting a whole lot from Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. The interesting additions to the game intrigued me a bit, but I originally got it simply because I wanted to see what a 3D Castlevania game played like, whether it was gonna be good or bad. Yeah, I'm crazy. But when I finally had the chance to play CoD, well, I wasn't impressed. However, it quickly grew on me the more I played, turning out to be quite an enjoyable action-adventure title that happen... |

Hitman: Codename 47 review (PC)Reviewed on October 31, 2005So, you wake up, lying on a bed you were previously strapped to, in a mental hospital no less, have no idea who you are, get up, and put on a suit. You then proceed to go through a mini obstacle course, learn close combat, shoot off a couple of rounds from various guns, kill a male nurse, take his clothes, and sneak out of the place in a matter of minutes. What do you do next? You join an agency and become an assassin. Duh. Ok, so that's not exactly a normal, everyday occurrence, but that's the ... |

Sega Smash Pack Volume 1 review (DC)Reviewed on October 14, 2005I can't believe I bought this compilation over Cannon Spike back when they were both new. I guess the allure of owning 12 "classic" Sega games got to me. I figured I would have more fun with a collection of mostly old-school games than I would with one title going for the same price. I was wrong. And here I am, four years later, writing a review of Sega Smash Pack Volume 1, and regretting overlooking a game that is now hard to get and probably going for twice its original retail pr... |

Atari Anthology review (XBX)Reviewed on October 09, 2005Damn, now THIS is a collection! 18 arcade classics and 67 Atari 2600 titles for a grand total of 85 games to choose from? INSANE!! They could've stopped there, but oh no, the developers went the extra mile; you'll also get a crap load of extras like scans of all the game's instruction manuals, promotional flyers, an interview with the creator of Pong (PONG!), and much, much more. And it's all yours for the super, duper low price of $20!! |

Enduro Racer review (SMS)Reviewed on October 07, 2005In this game of endurance, you'll be pitted against all kinds of obstacles that'll push your motorbike skills to its limits. Take for example the temple track; it starts off pretty easy, jumping off of ramps over boiling lava, but it quickly becomes a challenge. You'll enter a long hallway filled with ancient drawings, and booby-traps galore will suddenly pop out from all over: arrows fall from the ceiling, buzz saws slide out from the walls, and spikes pop out from certain tiles of the floor. O... |

Metal Slug 4 & 5 review (XBX)Reviewed on September 05, 2005Metal Slug 4 is HARD, therefore it deserves an introduction. For the last couple of years, I've heard a lot of negative things about this game, like how totally different it is from previous Slugs, or that it's too easy. Now that I've finally had the chance to play the title in this double pack, I'm stumped. It's not the plague that almost everyone seems to claim it is, and for the most part, it's basically on par with its predecessors. |

Viewpoint review (GEN)Reviewed on September 03, 2005Since the Genesis is home to a bijillion shoot-em-ups, it really takes something interesting to make one of these titles stand out from the crowd; Divine Sealing has a "women feel pain when their clothes get removed" gimmick, Metallic Uniframe Super Hybrid Armor has whatever the hell that game was known for, and in this case, Viewpoint has a unique perspective. Unfortunately, this game's selling point ends up screwing with the gameplay, making a rather average shoot-em-up pr... |

GunGriffon: Allied Strike review (XBX)Reviewed on August 02, 2005Okay, check this: it's the year 2008, see, and like, countries start leaving the U.N., and economic regions in South Asia joined together to create AWESOME POWER. I guess. Then the U.N. started to suck afterwards. Now fast-foward to 2023, and like, a democratic revolution broke out within this Asian nation, and then The South Asian Trade Area was like, "Whoa, terrorists!". So, now it's 2024, and the U.N. decided to form this multi-force thingy to fight against The South Asian Trade and gain REAL... |

Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection review (XBX)Reviewed on July 20, 2005Pinball Hall of Fame. I figured at first it was just a name, but when I popped in the disc and started playing, the game really lived up to its title. In this collection, you'll have the chance to select between seven popular Gottlieb pinball tables that originally came out during the 1950s (Ace High), 60s (Central Park), 70s (Big Shot and Genie), 80s (Black Hole and Victory), and 90s (Tee'd Off). Not only that, but each table has a different theme and a set of goals: from Ace High's play... |

Valis III review (GEN)Reviewed on June 28, 2005Valis III showed a lot of promise when I first turned on the Genesis: the intro was pretty neat, not only showing King GLAMES and plans to take over Dreamland and the Human World, but a dramatic recap of the last two games. It was a long ass intro, which featured an unintentionally funny moment ("Dreamland and the Human world are in danger!! Cheer up, Yuko!!"), but it got you pumped up for the game ahead, making you want to take control of Yuko, Warrior of Valis, and start kicking some as... |

Sega Rally Championship review (SAT)Reviewed on June 08, 2005There weren't that many rally games out when Sega Rally Championship was released. Add to the fact that there probably weren't that many GOOD rally games, and you'll understand why so many gamers have fond memories of this Sega oldie. Well, that was then. Now we have all kinds of rally games coming out of developer's asses, making for plenty more to choose from. So, looking back, was SRC actually a good game, or were we too hungry for a standout title to even notice if it was? Well... |

Mickey's Ultimate Challenge review (GEN)Reviewed on May 21, 2005The Kingdom of Beanwick is in turmoil! The sky is rumbling and no one knows why. Could this be the end of the world?! While the citizens are too busy not caring, Mickey and Minnie try to get to the bottom of this by going through a number of simple-minded puzzles. Only then will they be able to face Mickey's Ultimate Challenge (what? Minnie's name is absent from the title? I smell discrimination!): another puzzle! |

Ninja Gaiden review (XBX)Reviewed on May 05, 2005Ninja Gaiden certainly had its share of delays before being released; a lot people were eager to take a stab at this action-adventure game by Team Ninja, and they finally got a chance in March of 2004. Was it all it was cracked up to be? Well, it's definitely not one of the Xbox's greatest titles, but you'll still have fun with NG. Just don't expect anything revolutionary as you take control of Ryu Hayabusa in his conquest to decapitate everything that crosses his path. |

Mega Man Anniversary Collection review (XBX)Reviewed on April 09, 2005C'mon, you know you wanted this, to have all these classic Mega Man titles on one disc instead of having to go through the series on multiple consoles. And it would be an even bigger nuisance if you're just now going through the trouble of buying a bunch of used and dirty cartridges. Sure, Xbox owners are getting the compilation nine months after the PS2 and GC releases, but for just twenty-dollars, Mega Man Anniversary Collection is a great bargain title. |

Crazy Taxi 2 review (DC)Reviewed on April 02, 2005Ya know, I used to hate Crazy Taxi 2, thinking it didn't live up to the first game's standards. So with that mindset, I was ready to bash the game in this review; but then, I started playing it again. And to my surprise, it's not as bad as I'd originally thought. Hell, it's about as equal to its predecessor, give or take a few differences. That's a good thing and, unfortunately, a bad thing. |

Warrior of Rome review (GEN)Reviewed on March 18, 2005Julius Caesar was many things: a military leader, a writer, and a dictator. He also accomplished such things as being victorious in a number of battles and conquered a lot of countries. And then there was his death where he was stabbed a bijillion times. Even long after his demise, he is still being remembered through memorabilia such as his own coins, statues, and even movies. Which brings me to this strategy game, Warrior of Rome. Based on the events in 48 B.C. where he fights through t... |

The King of Fighters '95 review (GB)Reviewed on February 14, 2005It's 1995, a new year, a new contest. The host of this year's King of Fighters contest, Rugal, has sent out invitations, to last year's participants as well as newcomers, in hopes that they'll all join in the upcoming tournament. All seems well on the surface, but the contest is actually just a ploy by Rugal to capture, brainwash, and turn the best fighters into his own personal soldiers. Give this man the person of the year award, ladies and gentlemen! |

The Getaway: High Speed II review (GB)Reviewed on February 02, 2005I like pinball, I think it's an enjoyable genre. Stay on the board for as long as possible and rake up as many points as you can. Yeah, I consider that entertaining. Now, pinball as a video game is a different story; trying to replicate the real deal into the digital form has been hit or miss. Sometimes developers nail it, while other times they fail miserably. Unfortunately, The Getaway: High Speed II falls into the latter category. Add to the fact that someone thought it was a brilliant... |

OutRun2 review (XBX)Reviewed on January 25, 2005Hey, remember OutRun Europa, Battle OutRun, and *gulps* OutRun 2019?......... Well, AM2 seems to have forgotten them. Or at least they want to forget, which is made more obvious with the latest sequel's title, OutRun2. And who would blame them? I mean, the quality of those previous games ranged from mediocre to just plain sucking balls. So, of course, it's no surprise they want the game to be the followup to the original classic, OutRun. And trust me, af... |
