Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 review (X360)Reviewed on November 06, 2008Did it actually happen? That incident after midnight with my Xbox 360? No, it had to be a dream... |

Guilty Gear 2: Overture review (X360)Reviewed on November 02, 2008Though I've played some of the games in the past, I wouldn't call myself a fan of the Guilty Gear series. I don't hate the series, I just never had the opportunity to really dive into it. However, I do acknowledge it has a unique and absurd cast of characters, fluid animation, and an interesting fighting system. And while I may not be a fan, I still understand the shock the actual fans of the series felt when they found out that Guilty Gear 2: Overture wasn't going to be a fighting game. ... |

Exit review (X360)Reviewed on October 14, 2008Upon first glance of EXIT, you'll probably assume that it's just an average, two-dimensional platform title taking place mostly inside normal buildings. And you'd be half right. EXIT puts you in control of a man called Mr. ESC, an escape artist (get it, HAR HAR?), and for the duration of the entire game, you'll have to constantly help whiny people exit hazardous situations through 220 stages. You're damn right that's a lot of stages. It doesn't sound all that great, and when you pl... |

Robo Army review (ARC)Reviewed on September 26, 2008In Robo Army's quest to add some variety to the robots you'll be beating up, it ends up creating pretty funny designs. As you guide your half man, half machine avatar (or all machine, if you're the second player) through a crippling city, you'll be cutting mechanical soldiers in half with one fist and avoiding land mines littered all over the streets. Eventually, you'll reach the end of the stage, where you'll go up against the boss, who takes the form of a walking, green car. Stay... |

Battle Circuit review (ARC)Reviewed on September 17, 2008Capcom has made a lot of beat'em ups during the late 80s and most of the 90s, some of which were street brawlers that involved mayors and ninjas, knights and magicians that fought inside dungeons that possibly included dragons, and a game where you run around in giant robots, tearing stuff up. So, after making a variety of brawlers, how does Capcom attempt to make another one without it feeling like a rehash? |

Sonic 3D Blast review (GEN)Reviewed on September 10, 2008You know what was Sonic 3D Blast's problem? It wasn't that it strayed from the side-scrolling, platforming angle in favor of an isometric viewpoint. Its problem is that it doesn't have a save feature. For an action game, it's pretty long. Two hours long, to be exact. This has to do with the fact that most of the Zones (stages) in this game drag on longer than they should. You see, each Act of a Zone contains three segments, and in each segment, you'll have to search for Dr. Robotnik's rob... |

Tail of the Sun review (PSX)Reviewed on September 04, 2008Tail of the Sun is something I've heard about ever since it was released, but never had the chance to play. However, every time I've read up on it in some magazine, the person seemed to have a hard time explaining how the game works. They would basically describe it as a game about nothing. This bugged me for years, so I finally got a used copy of Tail of the Sun to see just what the hell it's about. |

Galaga Legions review (X360)Reviewed on August 25, 2008Galaga Legions has got to be one of the most handicapped shoot-em-ups I have ever played. Right from the very start, after your ship launches into space, the game will actually alert you to where every single formation will appear from. Hell, not only that, but it goes the extra distance to show you the path it'll first take when they appear on screen. But since your ship can only shoot in one direction (up), that should at least give you a semblance of a challenge, right? Well, a new add... |

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 review (X360)Reviewed on August 14, 2008The Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Beta (will there ever be a day when they stop adding words to this title?) is included in Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3. I didn't purchase it for that. I actually could care less about replaying a game that came out 14 years ago which includes updated graphics and a few other tiny enhancements. Yes, believe it or not, I bought C3 to play C3. |

Contra: Shattered Soldier review (PS2)Reviewed on August 06, 2008After the disaster that was C: The Contra Adventure (fun fact: it was my first PlayStation game), the Contra series was pretty much dead at that point in time. I didn't believe that, if a new game did come out after, it would be like the originals. But, four years after C: The Contra Adventure came out, Contra: Shattered Soldier was released for the PS2, and, well... I didn't get a chance to play it. |

Die Hard Trilogy review (PSX)Reviewed on June 29, 2008Hey, remember that part in Die Hard when John McClane killed 25 terrorists in the parking garage with a machine-gun and grenades? And what about that moment in Die Harder when you see him completely destroy the airport terminal with just his handgun? That was great. Of course, can't forget about that memorable scene in Die Hard With a Vengeance when John and Zeus crashed into a phone booth to disarm a bomb. Classic. |

Bushido Blade 2 review (PSX)Reviewed on June 22, 2008In this fighting game from Square(!?), you'll go from one area to another, defeating opponents with one of a few weapons you can pick from. Now, from the sound of that description alone, this sounds like a typical 3D fighting game, like Soul Blade or Tekken, but it's actually quite unique. Neither fighter has a life bar that can be drained away, and both fighters are vulnerable to any attack, so every swing of a weapon can result in instant death. A fight can start, and within seconds, one fight... |

Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance review (XBX)Reviewed on June 10, 2008One square section, about as long as a public restroom... that's just how big the first virtual mission is. And with your avatar, an oddly-dressed, white-haired "man", at your disposal, what is it that you'll do in this mission? You have to sneak by one guard. You'll easily walk by him as he turns his back to you, reach the goal, and complete the whole thing in under a minute. Granted, it is the first mission, but it makes you wonder if the game will continue on this simplistic path befor... |

Trog review (NES)Reviewed on May 27, 2008Trog!, in a nutshell, is a Pac-Man clone with a bit of Bubble Bobble added to the mix. You take control of a dinosaur named Bloop (and Spike, if you're playing two players) and on each island, you'll have to steal all of the one-eyed cavemen's (Trog's) eggs in order to advance to the next island. Of course, the ghosts, erm, Trogs, will come popping out of random holes in attempts to stop you. Like Pac-Man, you can try your best to avoid them, or, if you happen to be so lucky, eat a pinea... |

G.I. Joe review (NES)Reviewed on May 16, 2008G.I. Joe. No, not the upcoming movie, nor the original toy line. You know exactly what I mean when I bring up the name. That's right, I'm talking about the 80s line, A Real American Hero. It had a Marvel comic, the cartoon series, the theme song, a movie, Duke, Snake Eyes, Lady Friggin Jaye, Cobra Commander, the pimp (Destro), Baroness... I'm gonna stop now before the entire review is a list. But yeah, those were some good times. It also had its share of video games, some good... some crap. Fort... |

Condemned 2: Bloodshot review (X360)Reviewed on April 17, 2008To put it bluntly, Ethan Thomas is crap. After the events of the first game, Condemned: Criminal Origins, he left the Serial Crimes Unit, became a drunk, and hangs around the homeless. Some irony, considering he was beating the crap out of them before. Well... some things don't change, because at the start of Condemned 2: Bloodshot, you find yourself using Ethan to fight a group of bums in the back of some alley. With his fists. It appears Ethan has developed the ability to fight with his... |

Pac-Man: Championship Edition review (X360)Reviewed on April 04, 2008I could never get into the original Pac-Man. Every single time I tried to play that game, I would just become bored after the first two or three stages. Recently, I downloaded the demo version from Live Arcade, just to see if I still felt the same about it. I couldn't even get past the first stage. Going into Pac-Man: Championship Edition, I thought I was going to experience the same type of feeling. But, as I was a minute or so into playing this title, something shocking was happe... |
