Grandia II review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe second RPG to hit the Dreamcast is its most anticipated. Sporting impressive visuals and an epic scope, Grandia 2 proves to be, unfortunately, a rather underwhelming experience. In spite of that, Grandia 2 is still a must have for the DC owner. |

Duck Hunt review (NES)Reviewed on Date UnknownImagine it's 1985. An open field... a gun... a tree... a dog... a laugh in the face... a live duck... now a dead duck... a flash of light. What do these things remind you of? Well, they all have to do with the game, Duck Hunt! If you haven't played this game yet, you had better jump up on the bandwagon of players who know what this classic game is all about! |

Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise from the Ashes review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownBased off of one of 8 Gundam series, Bandai's giant robot stomper comes stateside possibly due in part to the success of Gundam Wing popping up on Cartoon Network's Toonami. Fans of that show who pick up the game for $44.99 (its going price at Best Buy and other places) may be dissapointed to find that Heero Yui or the God of Death aren't in this one. |

Maniac Mansion review (NES)Reviewed on Date UnknownManiac Mansion was an Adventure/RPG game originally created by Lucasarts for the PC. This version had eventually become a hit, so the designers decided to port the game to the NES with the help of a publishing contract with Jaleco. Nintendo's strict game censorship forced Lucasarts to remove many items from the game, but they were lucky enough to still manage to finish a full version of Maniac Mansion for the NES. |

NFL 2K1 review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownI've played many a football game in my day, but none of them have ever matched Super Tecmo Bowl for the NES, not even last year's stellar NFL 2K. Now, the folks at Visual Concepts have just made that old Tecmo dev team weep bitterly- NFL 2K1 is the best football game ever made. EVER. The game is fine tuned to perfection, with only a few (understandable) faults. |

Boulder Dash review (NES)Reviewed on Date UnknownBoulder Dash is a puzzle/action game that was designed, published, and released in 1990 with the involvement of First Star Software, Victor Musical Industries, and Data East Corporation (I really have absolutely no idea who the heck did what). Unfortunately, this game never did receive the proper recognition that it deserved very much. Why am I sitting here babbling? Anyway, read on and you'll see why I consider it a great game. |

Phantasy Star Online review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownStriking with all the ferocity of a bolt of lightening from the right palm of God, Phantasy Star Online begs the question: ''What the hell happened to Sega?'' |

Circus Caper review (NES)Reviewed on Date UnknownToday, I take you to the wonderful world of Circus Caper. This is the place where maniac clowns do more than just honk their red noses at you. This is the place where something fishy always happens beyond the ring of giant elephants and angry lions. But it's even more than that... it's something sinister. |

Seventh Cross Evolution review (DC)Reviewed on Date UnknownWhen I was a film major last year, in a class that was to serve as an introduction to film narrative, I learned of a guy named Bertol Brecht. He was a German playwright who thought that if you wanted to pass a message on to the audience (usually involving Marxist theory) you must detach the audience from the play. You cannot let your audience get caught up in a story or to show sympathy with characters because they will not understand your message and be too caught up in your story, or so the th... |

Deja Vu: A Nightmare Comes True review (NES)Reviewed on Date UnknownAfter the release of the hit game Shadowgate for the NES, Kemco realized the potential there was in the point-and-click genre of games. With this new-found knowledge, Kemco sought to release yet another game of the same style. This led to the release of the game Déjà Vu, another masterpiece coded by Icom Simulations. This game, along with the few other point-and-click games by the same company, helped to open up the world of games where sly thought and keen observation is a must. |

Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader review (GCN)Reviewed on June 18, 2002The animation, especially of the ships’ movements, is remarkably accurate to the movies, and, in some cases, even better. The ships’ hulls, themselves, are perfectly rendered, immediately recognizable at first glance. The FMV scenes from the original movies, which are shown throughout the game’s menu system, add even more quality to the already nostalgic title. |

Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition review (PC)Reviewed on June 20, 2002I am in no way a fan of first person shooters. Personally, I hate most of them cause I suck. However this game is a completely different story. I got this game awhile ago, and my friend hooked it up. He told me it was awesome, and that even I could play it. I lauged at him, and assumed this is another game I'll just leave on my computer and not play. However one day later, I was sitting around bored and threw the game in for a try. I found myself working through the Deathmatch instantly. I am no... |

Kabuki Warriors review (XBX)Reviewed on June 20, 2002The mere mention of Genki/Lightweight's samurai arcade brawlin' fighter Kabuki Warriors leads many gamers to sort of slink away and hardly murmur anything about it beyond that they heard from a guy who heard from a guy who heard from somebody that actually subscribes to IGNsider read that it sucks. Its the one game, Xbox or PS2 or GCN, that has managed to create this weird eerie mystery wrapped in an enigma around it. Its like when you ask your dad about your great uncle who fought in the batt... |

Tropico review (PC)Reviewed on June 21, 2002How many games can you play as Fidel Castro, or create your own dictator that may be rightous or a lieing sneak. You can send your money to the Swiss Bank accounts and retire in richness, if you last long enough before the citizens of Tropico force you off the island by a military coup. Create your own military, this is definitely a true simulation game, in which you control what happens, however your own mistakes might lead to your pallace being taken down, and your rapid retreat. |

Pokemon Red review (GB)Reviewed on June 21, 2002I am not a pokefanatic or anything, and I was probably one of the few people that bought this game without ever knowing there was a television show, or that it was popular overseas. I bought it cause it looked good, and truth is it is a great game. It's been hammered because it is childish, which is true, and yet it is loads of fun, and no matter how much nintendo has done to make it annoying, the game itself will always be good, at least in my mind. |

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening review (GB)Reviewed on June 21, 2002This is by-far the first Zelda game I had ever played. I was easily confused at first, and had trouble getting past the very first puzzles (that dumb mushroom). But after a little help from my peers, and my refusal to ever give up, I had one of the funnest gaming experiences. This Zelda game is a classic, made many years ago. I got this when I first got the gameboy game, and picked up the DX version later. |

The Smurfs review (GB)Reviewed on June 22, 2002This is the one game for my gameboy, that is not completely mine. My sister, even being 4 years older than me, was a smurf fan and wanted this game. Therefor my parents bought it for the both of us. There is really nothing that special about this game. It's just basically another game taken off a television show, and very few (the only major exception is Darkwing Duck) of these game are actually that good for more than a week. |

Quest 64 review (N64)Reviewed on June 23, 2002It claims to be an RPG, but Quest 64 is not exactly that. Sure it has RPG elements, and random battles, but these battle consist of bonking many enemies on the head, and occasionally zapping them with some random spell. In truth, I though Quest got a bad rap for it is a fairly good game, and I enjoyed it while it lasted. I will not easily sell this game, although I very rarely, if ever, pick this game up. |

NBA 2K2 review (GCN)Reviewed on June 24, 2002I am not really a fan of the NBA, and I really don't even have a favorite team but I found myself buying NBA 2k2 none-the-less. Why? For two reasons: 1) There were not many Gamecube games worth purchasing and 2) my friend owned the Dreamcast version and it was steller. Therefor I went out and bought the game, and through in the Gamecube as soon as possible. I found myself doing a Fantasy Draft, and drafting rookie PG Jamal Tinsley. Currently he is in the All-Star game, and in control of MVP. Thi... |

Bio F.R.E.A.K.S review (N64)Reviewed on June 24, 2002Bio Freaks is a traditional fighting game, inwhich you fight with some assorted montrosity. They are variously deformed, and have various weapons and hands and such. The coolest aspect of this game is that you can disarm, literally, your opponents so they have like no limbs left. This can be used for some pretty good fun. |
