Frequency review (PS2)Reviewed on Date UnknownBearing a surprising number of similarities to Parappa the Rapper yet supporting style and substance all its own, Frequency manages to be a breath of fresh air the belongs on your shelf if you're a fan of the narrow genre in which it falls. |
Tekken 3 review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownBut other than that, they kept the original arcade mode, and added other modes like beach ball mode, Tekken street mode, etc... There's lots of stuff to do here, and tons of replay value. |
Mega Man Soccer review (SNES)Reviewed on Date UnknownIn Mega Man Soccer, Dr. Light is now running a soccer team. Why? Because Dr. Wily took over the soccer championship game! Duh! And how else are you going to beat him, besides a soccer game??? Put him in jail? Shoot him down with a rocket? Crazy talk! Soccer is the only way! |
Tenchu: Stealth Assassins review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe view in Tenchu is much like that of Tomb Raider. A 3rd-person back-view. You must creep your way through several levels, while fighting some truly tough bosses. |
Tenchu 2: Birth of the Stealth Assassins review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownWhile some players may be tempted to just run out into the open, and run to the end of the level, they'll hardly get any points, and it'll be much harder. It's much more fun to take your time on a level (around 15-20 minutes), and try not to be spotted. |
Might & Magic III: Isles of Terra review (SNES)Reviewed on Date UnknownIn the conversion from the PC to the Super Nintendo, all the magic and charm that makes Might and Magic 3 great is lost. |
Vagrant Story review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe graphics in Vagrant Story are some of the best I've seen in a while... very smooth and life-like animations, stunning cinemas, phenomenal lighting, detailed polygons... this game's got it all. There is nothing here that's 2D; the characters and environments are all fully 3D. |
Mortal Kombat review (SNES)Reviewed on Date UnknownHowever, it immediately loses points for comprimising its integrity, by providing a watered down version to make sure it didn't offend TOO many people. |
Vandal Hearts review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownThey're very flat looking, and after playing FFT, it was sometimes hard for me to even see the characters and tell them apart on the battle map. There are no cutscenes, and the graphics are basically the biggest downfall in this game. Boring, sloppy, and not by any means eye-pleasing. |
Mortal Kombat II review (SNES)Reviewed on Date UnknownOverall, Mortal Kombat 2 will be remembered more as the game which started ultragore fests instead of what it should be remembered as - an excellent fighting game, second to only the Street Fighter series in terms of sheer playability. |
Xenogears review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownThe gear battles are similar, and use the same system with weak, medium, and strong attacks. You can still do combos, but each turn you go without doing a combo, your attack level goes up... And the higher the attack level, the better combos you can do. |
NBA Showdown review (SNES)Reviewed on Date UnknownNBA Showdown isn't worth playing. At all. We'll leave it at that. |
Mega Man X5 review (PSX)Reviewed on Date UnknownParts of certain levels are a real pain... It took me a dozen tries to get through some areas, but I always managed to find a way of proceeding. It just takes a bit of trial and error sometimes, and that's been a given ever since the first MegaMan game... |
Paladin's Quest review (SNES)Reviewed on Date UnknownOverall, Paladin's Quest would be quite the average role playing game if it featured graphics of any decent quality. Unfortunately, it does not. If you can stomach the game's awful appearance, then you'll find a decent gaming experience, but that's a lot to stomach indeed... |
Rez review (PS2)Reviewed on Date UnknownWhile her husband was away, she had the opportunity to entertain herself. She reached into the wardrobe, pulled out the shoebox, and took it to the bed. There she opened it, and pulled out the monster. Trembling with anticiapation, she started .... hold on. This is a video game review. Sorry! |
Robotrek review (SNES)Reviewed on Date UnknownBecause the robot system is so fun, it lifts the game's score from the dismal one that it deserves into the average range. |
Advance Wars review (GBA)Reviewed on Date UnknownWhat makes the game good is that there are such a wide variety of ways the enemy can screw you over while you are hunting him down. Some maps have snow, which the enemy always finds a more welcome element than you do. |
Secret of Evermore review (SNES)Reviewed on Date UnknownIf you're looking for an epic, then keep on looking. Secret of Evermore plays more like the light and airy Earthbound then a game like Final Fantasy or Secret of Mana. |
Secret of Mana review (SNES)Reviewed on Date UnknownOverall, Secret of Mana is an outstanding game, and deserves a spot in any gamer's library. The great story, graphics, gameplay, and sound will keep you coming back for more. |
Tecmo Secret of the Stars: A Fantasy review (SNES)Reviewed on Date UnknownIt also just FEELS like this game was thrown together at the last minute, or had a bad translation. All of the dialouge text in the game is in caps. It's annoying to see ''YOU MUST GO TO THE CAVE OF LIGHT''. Now imagine seeing that all the time. The text is badly translated, and reeks of that ''awkward translation'' stink. |
