Prototype review (PS3)Reviewed on June 18, 2009Every memorable game—be it good or bad—has at lease one defining moment. Moments that leave you in disgust, wondering why you shelled out your hard-earned money for such a travesty. Or, moments that inspire awe, that captivate you and reaffirm your decision to invest in the game. |

Resident Evil 5 review (PS3)Reviewed on May 28, 2009Over the countless years I’ve been playing video games, I’ve anticipated the release of many titles. Most of them have been sequels—Shining Force II, Lunar: Eternal Blue, Bloodrayne 2. It’s a long list. But never, ever, have I anticipated a game as much as I did Resident Evil 5. |

Resident Evil: Code Veronica X review (PS2)Reviewed on March 02, 2009When it comes to Resident Evil, I openly admit to being a fanboy. I buy the comics, the toys, the skins and any other gimmick I can find; most of it in anticipation for Resident Evil 5. I’m so eager, in fact, that I was willing to play Code Veronica based solely on a rumor that it contained a very short—albeit significant—plot revelation for the upcoming RE 5. |

LittleBigPlanet review (PS3)Reviewed on January 29, 2009Very rarely am I ever “blown away” by a game. I play a fair amount of the “good, even the great. Games that are overwrought with airships or zombies; battles with a Colossus or battles with one's inner demons. Games that all claim to be Epic, yet harbor some resemblance to something I’ve already played. |

Resistance 2 review (PS3)Reviewed on November 10, 2008For a while now, I’ve had an itch. One to do unbridled, unprecedented violence in a first-person shooter. Yet, any I found disappointed me. Condemned was choppy, Jericho was bland and Unreal Tournament was redundant. If I was to be sated, I needed something different. I wanted an all-out war, in a game that didn’t force upon me the same re-hashed formulas consistent of first-person shooters. |

Stuntman Ignition review (PS2)Reviewed on September 18, 2007I drove a monster truck off a ramp and crashed into a water tower. I hit the nitro and plowed my James Bond-like vehicle through a collapsing cavern of ice. I nailed a cork-screw jump and spun my Night Avenger car *cough* Batmobile *cough* through a rocket that was taking off, gunned a motorcycle through the open hatch of a hovering helicopter. I drove over barricades, under exploding semis and straight through billboards. |

Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground review (PSP)Reviewed on August 01, 2007I was given free reign to make my dungeon look any way I wanted. Even when I had to put the game down, I was planning my next floor. “Do I want long corridors towards several rooms," I would find myself asking with every floor "or do I want curved, turning hallways to spiral out from the starting point?” |

Brooktown High: Senior Year review (PSP)Reviewed on July 22, 2007The one thing that The Sims sold was complexity; the thing that Brooktown sells is fun. From the very beginning, you realize it doesn’t take itself too seriously. The game starts out with huge-headed, tiny-bodied characters playing volleyball, jumping freeways on skateboards and racing to class, while “Out Here All Night”, an upbeat and edgy tune blares in the background. |

Marvel Trading Card Game review (PSP)Reviewed on June 10, 2007I watched Spider-Man being ever paranoid about being late to meet M.J. and I even got chastised by Xavier when I opted to follow the villain path the second time around. |

Top Spin 2 review (PC)Reviewed on April 21, 2007With that said, Top Spin 2 is still the most intricate, most amazing tennis game I have ever played. I built rivalries, I toppled pros. I found myself hunched over my desk, completely oblivious to the outside world, utterly enthralled. Every win I fought for, every shot I calculated. |

Silent Hill review (PSX)Reviewed on March 29, 2007Everyone--to this day--compares Resident Evil to Silent Hill. Both surfaced around the same time, both games received enormous success with their original release and both brought the horror genre, at least for a time, into the spotlight. But in essence, comparing Resident Evil to Silent Hill is like comparing Dawn of the Dead to The Ring. Both are great in their own right, but one has a gore/survival feel to it, the other a haunting, psychological feel. In my opinion... |

Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer 2007 review (PSP)Reviewed on March 09, 2007There were several occasions where I would shoot the ball, it would smack the goalie right in the head, launch into the air for several seconds, then—finally—he would stick his hands up, in some feeble attempt to block my shot, which he already did with his face |

Red Dead Revolver review (PS2)Reviewed on May 07, 2006Here are a few examples of bad before and after scenarios. Go work out, then when you’ve exercised yourself until you’re starving eat a bunch of cookies and candy bars. Put an entertainment center or bookshelf together using only tape, and then throw all of your stuff on it at once to see if it holds. And finally, watch a really bad “western” movie (The Quick and the Dead) then search fervently for a “western” game (Red Dead Revolver) to fill the mental gap that is now in your life. Remin... |

SRS: Street Racing Syndicate review (PS2)Reviewed on April 27, 2006From the old school arcade to the modern day consoles, racing games have developed a large following. Whether you’re a fan of tearing down the streets racing for pinks in games like Need for Speed or entering the circuit and chasing the checkered flag in games like Sega Rally, there is something for everyone. Even for the guys like me who don’t know anything about racing or even cars for that matter, there are games. Games like Street Racing Syndicate. Maybe not the best thing out there, but cer... |
