As of late, I have been playing through the Castlevania series, specifically the games on Nintendo's great handhelds. I have come to find that I love these Metroid-ish games, complete with leveling systems and equipment. They are lacking on the story side, but I guess that doesn't matter, since you know the formula (Slay Dracula). I'll probably end up reviewing them all once I finish Circle of the Moon and Dawn of Sorrow.

overdrive - August 25, 2007 (10:12 PM) Those are some fun games, aren't they? I'm currently using Harmony of Dissonance as one of my gaming projects. The three GBA games aren't on the level of SotN, but are very fun to play. They and those Metroid games sure got the most out of that style of 2-D action-adventuring. The only qualm I have about any of them besides Circle of the Moon is their general lack of difficulty, but in a way that actually adds to my enjoyment because they're the perfect kind of game to just pick up and mess around with for awhile when I'm bored. |
