Arc the Lad
May 27, 2008

They should have called this game Arc the Mighty Ass Kicker and a Bunch of Scrubs. I mean, jesus, the final battle has you going against your dark clones, 7 vs 7. My dark clone magician casts a magic spell that kills six of my seven characters and barely phases Arc. Usually this would be an issue.. except Arc kills all the clones by himself without even needing to heal.

Almost every freaking battle towards the end was like that. Good lord, I hope part 2 is more balanced.

ATL2 is a lot longer and a lot more balanced...some would say it's even TOO hard at times. Storebought equipment SUCKS really bad, and the special items that are dropped by wanted monsters (or found) aren't very common.

If you want a good tip, when Elc goes to Palencia after Touvil and is ready to enter the nearby tower, there's a vendor in town that sells Illusion Robes (DEF: max 19). It's only open this one time in the game, and getting about eight or nine for the party later on will help a lot (they cost 2000g/per; allies join with crappy 6 & 12 DEF stuff).

Either way, I'm doing ATL2 junk right now and it's pretty dang fun. It gets slightly unbalanced a times but the enemies are always annoying, and compared to ATL3, it's definitely harder. Have fun!
