What a shitload of fuck.

Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance has to be the worst Metroidvania BY FAR. I'd give it a 3 if I could beat it, unfortunately..

Okay, I've been playing this game almost all day, and I am up to the part where I just beat Max Slimer and Death told me about the 2nd castle. Now, he went into the teleporter thing and it locked up behind him, and I can't seem to get in it. I've pushed up at it countless times and it just remains locked.

Yes, 78.3% done and I'm stuck in some obscure place that I can't figure out why.

Fuck this piece of shit game.

Not to be rude or anything, but I don't think anyone trusts your opinions.

Well that was uncalled for.

I actually thought Harmony was a slight improvement over Circle, but then again I hated Circle.

I don't recall asking "Suskie" if anyone trusted my opinions.

Fucking Mario 64 fanboys. Go cry to your mommy. This is a rant about me getting stuck in some obscure place in a shitty ass Metroidvania game.

I disliked Harmony of Dissonance as well. The other two are about even, though; Circle of the Moon is much more challenging, but Aria of Sorrow has a better presentation and combat mechanics.

I think CotM is the best of the 3 by far. If it had good lighting it'd be on my top 35 or so of all time list.

AoS was great too but the soul collecting really got tedious after a while.

HoD relies far too much on random exploration and the castle designs are lame.

Surely this is the way to be taken seriously.

I don't think anyone asked you for your opinion on HoD, by the way, but you gave it nonetheless. (Never played HoD, though, so I can't comment on that.)

Suskie, quit while you're ahead. You came into his blog to flame him. From where I'm standing you're the one that looks foolish.

I like HoD a bit more because CoM room design felt too samey for me and I got lost a lot. Plus it was extremely linear unlike Symphony. I actually had an easier time navigating in HoD despite all the portal shit. It still wasn't a good game though thanks to the aforementioned portals and twin castles thus making backtracking a total pain in the ass (the lack of challenge was also annoying). I liked the spell book system a lot more than the cards though. Some cards seemed impossible to find in CoM without a FAQ an intentionally hunting them down. I couldn't even stomach Aria though. By then I thought why not just replay Symphony and have fun.

Suskie, this is my blog. This is where I post opinions. No one asked me to post an opinion of HoD, but since it is my blog, I posted my opinion anyways. And a few people did respond so obviously some people care.

I didn't think CoTM was that linear. HoD was WAY too non linear though. it seemed like every new area had like 37 paths to go, and you could get lost very easily. And apparently it was about to get more non linear.. not that I will find out. :/

I agree that HoD is a pain in the ass. I've been stuck in the same place since FOREVER, and despite Sashanan's attempts to help me when he visits, I haven't had much luck.

By the way, I went ahead and added you here too, besides on the Backloggery. :)
