Another week of gaming progress
February 05, 2015

I finished two games over the last few days.

For Grinsia, you can just read the review that I posted today. A heaping helping of meh, that one was.

Over the next day or two, I hope to get a review finished for Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage. I've owned that one for over 15 years, but hadn't ever beaten it because back then I was all obsessed over things like 100% completion and got burnt out over frustrations over getting some of the better-hidden gems and tougher orbs. This time, I was a lot more laid back about those things and just beat the game. A lot of fun.

Other than that, not a great deal to report. I've made progress in Burning Heroes (JUST LET IT END!!!!), Terranigma (just about to where shit gets wild, as I'm ready to bring back Beruga to set up the final chapter of the game) and Lufia 2 (first trip to the tower you go to after Guy joins you to rescue his sister -- next up: the second trip to the tower in order to get the treasure in Camus' room, since the game warps you out before you ever have the chance to pick that stuff up).

Next on the agenda for completion, in any order: Terranigma, Dragon Quest IX, Stella Deus and Super Mario Galaxy. I'm close to the point where I start focusing on the game to get through the final parts efficiently with each of these four.

I really need to complete a few more games, so I can review them and decide what to conquer next. I'm not really good at balancing multiple projects the way you are. If I wait too much longer, I'll probably forget what I was doing and that would be a shame.

I do have problems with remembering, though, especially in a time like this where I'm finishing up a few games, so others have been getting the short end of things.

Last night, I played SMT IV for the first time in about 3-4 weeks. I knew I was supposed to go to the area attached to a town where you're supposed to kill a bunch of Corpse enemies (not allowed to go there without accepting the quest). I started play. I had no idea where I was in relation to the town initially and it took about 5 minutes (counting time in battle) to remember where I was in relation to things.

But I'm gradually whittling things down to a more manageable number. It was at 19 games at one time for a bit and I'm getting that down slowly. Very slowly, as I'm at 15 right now, but by the end of the year, I'm hoping for a manageable 9 games at once.
