Swordquest: Fireworld

You know, last year during the team tournament, one of the judges remarked about how it's kind of old and uninspiring for writers to simply pick out bad old NES games and bash them because, in essence, it's too easy. So I'm raising the bar and bashing bad old Atari 2600 games. Because it's even more easy.

Oh, that's right. I did tell Blu I'd be putting up more Doom progress from Icarus. So here's two more level recaps!

4. Engineering —  another short level, but better than Quarry, mainly because there are a few little sneaky sidepaths with a few imps inside ready to ambush players not paying full attention to their surroundings. 5/10

5. Flipside —  pretty fun level. You start outside a courtyard-like area with imps breathing fire from all directions. Tons of imps here, actually, with many teleporting in at various times. You go from the wide-open courtyard to a few more claustrophobic, trap-filled areas to get keys. Some of those parts are very predictable, but still a good level. 7/10

Genj said that about my "bad comedy routine" Demon Sword review.

Ah....I couldn't remember what it was. The only thing I could think of was my Hydlide review, but I was pretty sure the issue there was that game had been covered so many times before in the past, it wasn't interesting to read about.

Then I got all mopey for the next week or two and pouted to get attention. It didn't work, as I still didn't win in the finals. Damn it.

You should just be happy you were on a team that didn't suck for once. Although that Zig-OD-GUTS team with should've gone places beyond nostrils.

I kind of agree with your ratings so far OD, Icarus blows its load in the first level and spends the rest of its time fumbling around trying to save face. but by its horrible Map30 clone you just have to laugh at it and spread the rumor with Alien Vendetta and all the other cool kids.

On Visions of Doom, there are about 3 levels in the 11-25 region the dude LOVES. But for the most part that's right. Like, last night I did L7. Should of been some great fights with Cacos, HKs, Mancubi and Arachnoids.....but you get a shitload of rockets and shells and all these fights are behind doors where enemies don't really follow you. All you have to do is open a door and, depending on enemy location, either double-barrel them or rocket them. Way too easy for the monster selection in the level.
