Special editions of games come with all sorts of silly bonuses for those willing to pay a little extra, from Halo 3's Master Chief helmet to Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword's golden Wii remote. Konami, never one to turn down more money, contributes to this in its own way with a special hardware bundle for Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D.

David Jaffe must be in a giving mood due to the holidays. He announced today via the PlayStation Blog that those lucky enough to grab a copy of Twisted Metal from the game's first run at print will get a voucher including a download code for Twisted Metal: Black.

Edge Master is a major character in the SoulCalibur series, despite only appearing in one game. He's constantly doing things and interacting with people in that background, but his role as a jack-of-all-trades fighter has been delegated to Charade in SoulCalibur II, Olcadan in SoulCalibur III, and absolutely nobody in SoulCalibur IV. He finally returns for SoulCalibur V, presumably with his "style" of using a random weapon each round.

According to a report from Nikkei, Nintendo may be bringing paid DLC to the 3DS as soon as March. The first game that will be able to take advantage of this will be the 3DS Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem Kakusei. Fire Emblem: Awakening is a translation of the title.

Famitsu is reporting that 510,629 3DS systems were sold last week in Japan, breaking the previous sales record of 367,691, set just the week before. This brings the total lifetime sales of the 3DS in Japan to 4,135,739 systems.

A nice few Marvel-themed tables have been released as DLC for Marvel Pinball and Pinball FX 2, and developer Zen Studios isn't done yet. Confirmed in a forum post by Zen Studios forum administrator crackervizzo (whose secret identity is Mel Kirk, VP of Marketing and Public Relations at Zen Studios), The Hulk will be the star of the next DLC table.

The next entry in EA Sports' SSX franchise, simply titled SSX, will be tricking onto store shelves a couple weeks later than planned. Originally scheduled for a Valentine's Day release, the game will be released on February 28th in North America and March 2nd in Europe.

The first piece of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 DLC is coming, and Xbox 360 is getting it first. Microsoft's exclusivity deal on Call of Duty DLC is still in effect, so starting January 24th, Call of Duty Elite subscribers on Xbox Live will have access to the new DLC, the Park, for "free."

Kingdom Hearts 3D, also known as Kingdom Hearts [Dream Drop Distance], is set to be the next major release in the Kingdom Hearts series. It continues the plot from where it left off in Kingdom Hearts 2 and is scheduled to release in March in Japan. However, only now has Square Enix confirmed a release date for North America and Europe. That release date is... 2012.

A blog post from the game's director, Sefton Hill, reveals that the skin is based on the Batsuit from Batman Incorporated, the comic series in which Batman decides to turn his identity into a franchise, creating a team of Batmen based around the world, all of whom ultimately answer to the original Batman. It's weird stuff.
