Chrono Trigger, the classic 16-bit era JRPG, has found itself yet another home on the App Store. It is now available for download and play on iPhone models from the 3GS on, as well as the fourth generation iPod Touch. (You can play on your iPad as well, but the game has been optimized for play on iPhones/iPod Touches.)

If you've never played Chrono Trigger but ever wondered why you just love stuff like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Dragon Ball, well, you might want to take the $9.99 dive on the game's iOS version. The title was made by creators from each of the aforementioned series. If you played and loved this one, though, you might still find some value in the two added areas from the Nintendo DS version of the game: the Dimensional Vortex and the Lost Sanctum.

Of course, you'll have to use touch screen controls, which seem to be hit or miss for games on Apple touch screen devices. I'm sure Square Enix hopes Crono's charm will make iOS gamers look past any control issues and enjoy what many gamers believe to be one of the greatest RPGs ever made.
