Techland's zombie survival lootfest, Dead Island, will be getting its first downloadable content pack on Nov. 22, according to a press release from Deep Silver, the game's publisher.

The "Bloodbath Arena" DLC adds four, well, arenas for players to conquer solo or cooperatively with their buddies. Of course, these arenas are zombie infested, and the undead will keep attacking in waves, growing more and more difficult and grotesque after each wave. (Sounds a lot like Gears of War's Horde mode, or Halo: Reach's Firefight mode.) All experience points and equipment found in these arenas can then be taken back into Dead Island's campaign.

A new weapon is also being thrown into the mix: the brain wave bomb. While Deep Silver's press release wasn't very descriptive, I daresay this new weapon might have something to do with brains -- and combustion.

Finally, the downloadable content will add leaderboards to the title, so players can compare their zombie slaying skills with their fellow zombie decapitation enthusiasts.

The "Bloodbath Arena" DLC will run you $9.99 or 800 Microsoft points when it launches on PC, the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live Marketplace. Hopefully, Dead Island fans don't forget about it with the avalanche of stellar titles still headed our way this November.
