Metal Gear Rising special editions revealed
Includes OST, figurines, snappy titles.
A pair of special editions for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has been detailed for Japan. The two variations are called, simply, the Premium Package, and, less simply, the Premium Package Konami Style Special Edition. Catchy.
Alongside the game, the Premium Package includes the original soundtrack in a special steel book, a Yoji Shinkawa artbook, and a magnetised three-legged dwarf gekko figurine. It will cost 9,980 Yen (approximately $125/£77) at launch.
The succinctly titled Premium Package Konami Style Special Edition includes all of this, and throws in a fully-poseable, fully-awesome Raiden figurine to sweeten the deal. This edition will retail at 12,980 Yen (approximately $162/£100).
Both packs will include the Cyborg Ninja DLC, which adds a new in-game skin for Raiden. In a nice homage to Metal Gear’s other ninja badass, it’s based on Gray Fox from the first Metal Gear Solid.
There’s no sign of the ‘sword lamp’ that was previously revealed to be part of a collector’s edition for the title.
There’s no news yet whether these special editions will be available outside of Japan. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is being developed by Platinum Games, and is due for release worldwide in February 2013.
