Left 4 Dead 2 free to play on Steam this weekend

Kill all the zombies you want, free of charge.

Valve just loves giving away games for free.

To celebrate the pre-Halloween weekend, Left 4 Dead 2 will be free to play on PC all Saturday and Sunday, and is currently available for pre-load. If you've never played the team-based shooter, now's the perfect time to get started. It's sure to get you in a Halloween-y mood and it's totally free! Current players will also get a new achievement titled "Good Guy Nick" for playing with one of the free weekend newbies. You'll also have access to all the maps from the first L4D which were added as free DLC a while back.

Hopefully, this weekend will convince you to finally pick up one of the finest team-based PC games we've had in the last few years.
