Resistance Collection hits shelves this Winter

Miss out on that whole Chimeran War thing?

With its European version originally outed by Amazon France back in April, the Resistance Collection has been formally announced for a North American release this Winter. The collection will include all three console Resistance titles released on the PlayStation 3.

Included on-disc will be downloadable content for both Resistance 2 and Resistance 3, like the Aftermath Pack for R2 and the Brutality and Survival Packs for R3. And according to the box art revealed on the PlayStation Blog, the collection will also sport 3D support and PlayStation Move compatibility.

Priced at $40, Resistance Collection will launch this Winter at a still-to-be-specified date. Sony promised more details, include an exact release date, will be revealed "in the coming weeks."

That's pretty cool. I enjoyed Resistance 1, even if there was something indescribably bland about it. It had no sense of pacing, I think and only the barest sense of immersion. It was just one firefight after the other. But the controls were smooth and I was interested in playing 2 and 3. Never got around to it.

My friends used to play hours of the multiplayer in the PSP one, but I was doing other things, like, you know... working towards a career and getting a degree. Which isn't to belittle the value of playing hours of Resistance on PSP. Or maybe it is.

This IS very cool. You're right - the first one was bland, especially in appearance. The second, I remember being all around the best, even if the third has amazingly high production values.

Also my favorite all-around guns. Each weapon really felt unique from another and there wasn't the Halo effect of "one gun" and then "the gun that's better than the one gun."

Yes! The guns are awesome. The sniper felt particularly destructive, and then there's the one that can shoot through walls. I'm definitely picking this up.
