Killzome 3 multiplayer to be standalone download, F2P

Killzone 3 image

Like many shooters, Killzone 3's multiplayer mode is the part of the game most people will spend the most time with. Some people may even choose to skip the single player campaign completely.

For those people, Sony is releasing Killzone 3's multiplayer mode as a standalone download next week. It will even be free to play up to a certain player level. Once you hit that cap, you'll presumably be able to keep playing at that level, or you can choose to pay $14.99 to remove the cap and keep leveling up.

It's a cool idea and it will be interesting to see how it works out for Sony. Killzone 3's multiplayer mode hits the PSN store on Tuesday, February 28th.
