Gaming update - 5/24/08

So, I've been playing games lately...I played Dragon Quest VIII up until the Dark Ruins. Then Doulmagus kicked my ass and I moved on. I plan to get back very soon though. I'll just need to prepare better. It really is a fun game.Played and beat The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I managed to fill the Phantom Hourglass with 24 minutes and I have 13 hearts. Temple of the Ocean King completion time was 15:36. It would have been much faster if I had realized I could kill the Phantoms with the Sword of Twenty-Three Minutes (My nickname for the Phantom Sword. Apparently the handle is made from the Sand of Hours.). I also had 13 hearts, which is only three less than the maximum. As for game completion time and number of game overs... I have no idea. The game doesn't track those things. All I know is that I died a lot. I blame the occasionally spotty control. And my lack of game-playing skill. The controls work well enough, most of the time. Don't bother trying to roll though. It's hard to perform and mostly useless. My main beef with the game however, is the Temple of the Ocean King. It's a timed dungeon that you have to revisit numerous times during the game. And you have to go through the same floors over and over. While avoiding invincible Phantoms, who can decrease the timer by 30 seconds if you get caught. Timed dungeons where you have to use stealth are not something I expect or want from a Zelda game.I've also been playing Musashi: Samurai Legend. I had started playing it a couple months ago and stopped one hour into it. A few days ago I picked it back up as a quick diversion from my other games. And then yesterday I beat it, with a time of 22 hours and some amount of minutes. The camera in that game can get annoying at times. There are points when I'm attacking a boss, but I can't actually see Musashi or the boss. But thanks to the sound cues, at least I know that I'm making contact.  I've rescued all the mystics and collected most of the cards, so I'm probably not going to play the game again. I think I got all I needed from that game by playing it once. Also been playing Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. My opinion so far? It's good. Really good. More in-depth opinions to come at a later date after I've spent more time with the game.So now that I've finished Phantom Hourglass, I'm looking for more portable games to play. Problem is, the L button on my DS Lite is broken. So I need some suggestions for DS and Game Boy Advance games that don't require use of the L button. Either from games I already own, or games that I don't own but should. If you could help me out, I'd appreciate it.

Have you tried the GBA Castlevanias? If I recall correctly, you don't NEED the L button in those, I think it's just used to backwards dash.
