The second cheesiest metal band ever.
February 17, 2006

At last I've found the nerdiest metal that isn't Nightwish.

Bal-Sagoth has it all: corny keyboard riffs straight out of a SNES game; dark, brooding voiceovers of Tolkien-lite epic proclamations (you'll see); mad guitar crunching; schizo vocals which alternate between snarling screeches and booming computer-assisted profundo bass.

Oh yeah, I would have written the full title of this track at the bottom but it DOESN'T FIT. It will scroll at the bottom (which takes about two minutes)

They barely surpass Dragonforce in sheer dorkiness, but Dragonforce has wicked awesome guitar players.

Find it here, bitches.

Manly Firefox users can save mp3 through Page Info and all that shite.

It only took 35 seconds of it for me to decide it was mega gay.

Hey! I actually like some of Bal-Sagoth's stuff. "Starmaps of the ..... something something" is a pretty sweet tune.

Funny thing is I have an old song by them on my computer called Witch Storm. Back in the day, they were more of a straight-up death group with a pretty cool sound (at least that's what I got from that song). Then.....they suddenly became this heavy metal rock opera group. Weird shit, there.

I also have "A Black Moon Broods over Lumeria" or someshit. Yeah, they used to be generic death thrash before they all realized their love for Tolkien.

XD Oh god, this is so incredibly cheesy, and the lyrics crack me up.

Man, Kamelot blows this crap out of the water. At least The Black Halo is based off of something that's actually cool (i.e. Goethe's Faust).

And for metal with mythological lyrics, Therion is so much better than this.
