honestgamer - August 03, 2011 (05:56 PM) How do you remember all of that? I've played old arcade games I can't even remember. |

bloomer - August 04, 2011 (06:42 PM) I would remember nearly all of the ones I've played, but only with prompting. I'd have to get the whole list of MAME games and just go through them. |

JoeTheDestroyer - August 04, 2011 (06:53 PM) God, I've played so many obscure ones that I don't think I can honestly recall them. I vaguely remember playing some smaller ones that were made for children, and I don't think I can even somewhat remember the names for them. |

bloomer - August 04, 2011 (07:21 PM) I think what surprised me about this exercise was there are some famous ones where I honestly can't remember if I ever played it in an arcade, like Donkey Kong and Zaxxon, so I left them off. I also can't remember the name of some racing games I have played, and I'm not sure if I really played Star Wars or just think I did. So here's what I know I played for sure. It skews older than japanaman: 1942 1943 AD+D: Tower of Doom Aliens Alien Storm Alien VS Predator Arkanoid Astron Belt Astyanax Bad Dudes VS Dragon Ninja Bad Lands Bank Panic Bubble Bobble Cadillacs and Dinosaurs Captain Commando Choplifter Commando Crystal Castles Dark Seal Daytona (forget which one) Double Dragon Discs of Tron Dragon's Lair Elevator Action Fighting Fantasy Final Fight Frogger Galaga Gaplus Gauntlet Gauntlet Legends Ghouls N Ghosts Ghosts N Goblins Golden Axe Golden Axe 2 House of the Dead 2 MACH 3 Magic Sword Metal Slug Metal Slug 2 Midnight Resistance Moon Cresta Mortal Kombat Mr Do's Wild Ride Narc Operation Thunderbolt Pacman Pooyan Psycho_Nics Oscar Qbert Midnight Resistance Ms Pacman Night Stocker Ninja Warriors Pleiades Popeye POW Raiden Rampage World Tour Robocop Rygar Scramble Sea Fighter Poseiden Simpsons, The Snow Bros Soul Edge Space Invaders Spy Hunter Strider Time Pilot Time Pilot '84 TMNT TMNT 2 Trojan Tutankham Vendetta Vindicators Virtua Cop Virtua Cop 2 Virtua Fighter Virtua Figher 2 Vulgus Warriors of Fate Wonder Boy Xevious X-men Xybots |

bloomer - August 05, 2011 (03:53 AM) I have to thank the Mame ROMs list for helping to jog my memory in a few cases. Ah, you played a real Krull machine, Joe :) I'm jealous. I collect most things Krull. I think the game off my list I have the best/most nostalgic memories of is Astron Belt. This was a get-inside-it Afterburner-ish laserdisc game. It seemed unbelievable at the time, and also it was so loud it scared the **** out of me. |

JoeTheDestroyer - August 05, 2011 (11:19 AM) I've only ever found that Krull cabinet once, and it was in an arcade at a water park in Idaho. Not only was I astonished that a water park would have an arcade, but that there was a Krull videogame (I think I was about thirteen at the time). I only wish I could find that cabinet again so I could review it. Playing it on MAME isn't quite the same. |
