It may be premature to announce your return before you actually make the stage, but I'm doing it anyway. Honestgamers is still where I am most read. When I last posted here I was going on about writing and so on. I haven't stopped, naturally, but I have shifted focus.

I am working with an editor now. Pretty crazy, right? You guys get to hear it first. So, it's actually awesome and I'm learning a lot. It doesn't feel right to get into details, but I can talk about other things that have happened in my life.

Well...I had a slew of health issues and haven't been functional for a while. Lately I fractured my ankle, so I'm healing from that as well. Wait, wasn't I supposed to be talking about good things that have happened?

I don't know if I mentioned it here, but over two years ago I got married! My wide and I play Mario games in most flavours and a lot of Super Mario Kart 8. It really is as good as the hype promises.

So now that we're on the subject of gaming, I plan to cover the games we've been playing for the last couple of years, including the digital stuff I picked up. I've stacked up a a decent library on my Switch.

There we are and I look forward to hearing from you guys as I pump out reviews again!

Boy is it interesting reading your old stuff and cringing.

Welcome back, hasty! Things are pretty quiet right now, for a variety of reasons, but a lot of the same people you remember are still lurking about and occasionally posting. I look forward to seeing your thoughts on games you've played. Congratulations on the nuptials!

Thank you! It's good to see that HonestGamers is still carrying on. In my mind it's one of those sites that is just off the main thoroughfare where you can get a better meal than anyone mainstream can serve you. No MSG, no preservatives, just what you need.

Sounds good! Well, other than the "health and broken bones" part, but good to hear from a familiar face again. Been working a lot slower in recent months, due to the combination of a busy schedule through May and June and the fact I'm playing Elden Ring at a "savor every damn moment" pace, meaning it will likely take well over 200 hours to do everything.

I've put a LOT of time into Elden Ring. If you plan to do everything and not rush yourself excessively, 200 to 250 hours is not a bad estimate at all. Maybe even 300 hours. There are a lot of interesting--and dangerous--nooks and crannies to explore!

Good to hear from you too, overdrive! Just a couple of months ago I picked up the perfect MMO...or close to it: FFXIV. It's everything I've ever wanted. The timing is good with me being laid up, so that's alright. I've made a list of the games I will be reviewing, so I'm organized. I've even played them! Some with my wife!

Gonna be a little different writing with that experience.

Yeah, I'm at 136, give or take, and I just beat Leyndell -- and by "beat", I mean, beat the main bosses. I still have a giant gargoyle thing and tree root snake thing to fight, assuming I can remember where either are located in that insane maze of an area. Super fun to explore, but, man, I got turned around a few times.
